The Vex invasions have proven to be a heavy task for all Destiny 2 players to engage with while on the moon. They are the next step in obtaining quality equipment to prepare for the game. Shadowguard Raid. Destiny 2 Players who want to go above 900 are going to have to get involved in these areas. However, there is an additional level beyond the standard invasion. Players need to deal in the game. Here's what you need to do to unleash the Fourth Invasion and fight a mighty Hydra.
How to do the heroic vex invasion in Destiny 2
Have you ever had a Vex invasion on the moon? You can do them after you finish the Shadowkeep story. If not, we've already put together a how-to guide you can read when you're ready. Be sure to talk to Ikora in the tower before trying out these events, as she will give you an item you need to get started. Follow the initial checklist in this guide, and you should be good to go.
Now, if you've done the standard offensive waves so far, you know what to expect. A large amount of Vex spawns in the area with a massive white ball in the sky above them. Kill the High Lord of the Gate, then move on to the next generation. You do this a total of three times to complete the offense and work tirelessly to access Vex's offense.
However, here's what you need to do to trigger the Fourth Wave of Invasion and get this huge Hydra to be called Overlord.
First, follow the standard process you would for any other invasion event by hosting a public event on the Moon, waiting a bit after that. If an Invasion event does not trigger, go to the next public event and wait again. We should eventually arrive. When that happens, start fighting the Vex and damage the Lord Gate.
After damaging the Lord of the Gates a bit, two Hydras will appear near the center of the large white circle. Separate yourself from the Lord of the Gates and take out these two Hydras. When they're dead, head back to the Lord Gate and take it out. You will repeat this for the three invasion locations.
When you have completed the third invasion point, a fourth will open and create a Hydra called Overlord. You and many other Guardians will have to work together to defeat them. While you and a friend have had it easy with the Gate Lords, the Vex Hydra Overlord will prove to be much more difficult to take down. You could be wrong on your first and second attempt if you don't have the numbers to help you.
You're going to get some great gear to take out the Overlord. However, there is a bit of speculation on how much material you are going to receive to repeat this event. For example, after participating in this particular event twice, you will only receive Vex Offensive components rather than powerful gear for your Guardian. It's likely that the hardware for these events will reset with the Destiny 2 weekly reset, but we'll have to wait to find out.
There is a video below from YouTuber Mtashed going through the initial process. Check if you have any additional questions on how to handle the event or what to look for during the invasion.
Good luck, Guardians, and hopefully these props will help you prepare for the Garden of Salvation raid.
