The Destiny 2 Arrival Season focuses on the dreaded darkness making its final approach to Earth. The Pyramid Ships are here, filled with threat and mystery. This season will take us through September, when the game's next major update, Beyond Light, launches.
So far, the Arrivals season has introduced some interesting mechanics to the game, like the new Shadow Engrams that can be targeted to reward items from a more targeted loot pool, which is certainly a welcome addition to the game.
- June 9 - The Contact public event arrives on Io. This new PvE activity pits you against a treasure trove of enemies in Asher Mir's backyard.
- June 9 - The Prophecy DUngeon - a brand new dungeon to travel with your fire team, featuring new Daito armor.
- June 9 - Mission Interference and Weekly Quest - a slowly evolving questline that grows weekly and rewards Pinnacle Gear.
- July 7 - Sept. 22 - Moments of triumph, new triumphs and seals to be won before the end of the season.
- August 11 - September 8 - Solstice of Heroes - The Solstice of Heroes returns with brand new shining legendary armor up for grabs.
There are a lot of other activities that Bungie leaves out to avoid spoilers. Weapon quests are a prime example, and you can expect some of them to come to you this season as a way to earn new weapons.
Season of Arrivals will pave the way for Beyond Light, which will feature the Dark's attempts to lure the Guardians to a new power, Stasis. This is the first time that a new item will be added to the game since its inception. The arrivals season will run until September 22.
