Completion of deliveries is the name of the game in Death Stranding. This is how Sam will spend his time working on the map and many of them won't turn out to be easy. After completing these deliveries, players will earn a score based on their performance. Here are some of the best things you can do to get a high score at the end of it, and tips on what you should do to get a higher score.
How to score higher on delivery orders in Death Stranding
You're going to find the best way to deliver the items you bring to your Death Stranding customers is to get them there in an orderly fashion. However, not everything is going to want you to go, and you'll find getting through the environment is no small feat. There are a lot of challenges to overcome, even finding the best way to run up a small hill or around the small ledges and gaps in your path.
Players will be evaluated on several factors depending on the final delivery of their package. Here's what customers are looking for and rating you:
- The condition of your boxes and their damage
- How quickly were you able to deliver the package successfully
- Complete delivery
The first two are the most important. Getting the package delivered without any damage can be difficult. Sam will face many challenges when undertaking a delivery, and protecting those supplies will be difficult.
On the one hand, there are enemies willing to attack it, and they could easily damage these supplies. If they receive any, they will start to spark and smoke. You can always take the time to repair these supplies by doing everything in your power to repair them, or you can choose to redeploy them to your site for Sam.
The other, equally difficult task is to successfully navigate the field and get to the delivery site on time. Players can cut their time in half while running, but it can be awkward as Sam has a tendency to fall. They will have to rely on their rebalancing during their journey or on a slower pace.
In addition, players are going to be able to move around the field better by playing the game more, getting used to the way the environment reacts and the way Sam reacts when he moves. To get an idea of the terrain in front of you, you can always scan the area to see the little landmarks on the environment. These markers signify difficult terrain - blue for easy, yellow for medium, and red for impossible. Sam can easily cross the blue markers, but it takes a little while for him to cross the yellow. While blue is more comfortable, that doesn't mean Sam can't trip and fall, so just sit still and keep a steady hand on the load.
The last factor in getting a decent delivery score is to complete the delivery in the first place. Although it shows up on the scoresheet, there is hardly any reason to mention it because in order to get the order sheet, players have to complete the delivery.
Beyond these methods, you aren't too worried about anything else. There is the level of connection with the entrepreneur, but these are not taken into account in the score. There's also the distance traveled, but again, those numbers aren't factored into everything.
Make sure to review your scorecards every time you complete a mission and you should get higher orders throughout your game. Death Stranding.
