To record the screen with VLC first start the program (on Windows you can find it on the desktop or by opening the Start menu and looking for the name of the same), then click on the top menu “Methea> Open capture device”.
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C to bring up the same window without having to open the menu every time. Once the window is open, make sure you select "Desktop" in the drop-down menu on "Acquisition mode".
Now you will need to configure the only setting visible on the screen by bringing the frames at 50 f / s, so you won't have any problems playing the recortheng. At the end of the configuration it will be sufficient to press on “Play” at the bottom of the window to start the acquisition.
You will return to the main VLC screen with the entire screen captured with the particular "infinite mirror" effect, a clear sign that the program is ready to record screen.
