One feature common to modern multiplayer titles is the ability to play against AI, or bots for short. Fortnite actually has a way to practice or play with bots but not through traditional means. Today we are going to see how to play against bots in Chapter 2 of Fortnite.
Where to play against bots
There really is only one concrete way to fight Fortnite bots. While you can technically kill bots in an online match, the number of bots is random and you can't choose how the bots act.
In Chapter 2, you will need to load into Fortnite Battle Lab to train with bots. Battle Lab is a mode that was added in late 2019 to give players another place to practice their building skills or get used to a certain weapon.
In Battle Lab, there are tons of customizable settings that you can change. This includes removing fall damage, boosting health, conserving your items on death, and more. Once you've picked and chosen your settings, participate in a game of Battle Lab on your own or with up to 15 other friends.
Image via MilleniumAs you begin to loot chests and search buildings for weapons, watch out for an item titled “Enemy Robot Grenade” or “Friendly Robot Grenade”. As the name suggests, these grenades will spawn a bot that will fight with you or against you. Most of the time you want the enemy Grenade Bot. However, if you're playing with friends, the Friendly Bot Grenade is also a great find.
You spawn the bot by simply throwing the grenade at where you want the bot to be. After the bot spawns, it will immediately start shooting at you if it's an enemy. It's a great simulation for a real Fortnite game and gives you the option to practice building when you shoot or shoot in general.
