So you've found the key to the treasure chest, and now you want to take the loot for yourself. This is the best option for a pirate with no shortage of time and a thirst for gold that could match the Hoarders themselves.
The first thing you will need to do is find the safe. There are six treasure chests spread throughout the Sea of Thieves, and each safe has its own corresponding key. Each key has an inscription that gives players clues as to where to find the safe. Once you're there, use the key to open the door, but make sure your crew is ready to loot. After opening the vault door, a timer starts giving players around three minutes to get away with all the loot they can.
In the safe, pirates will find piles of gold, treasure chests and various trinkets. The best treasure you can find, however, is hidden behind several layers of puzzles.

- Take each medallion and place them in the central altar
- The first locket will reveal an item, go to the leftmost pillar, and change it until it matches the locket
- Continue for the second and third pillars to the right of the first
- The fourth pillar, all the way to the right will not have a corresponding medallion, but instead will have three different symbols. Change this pillar to match the original three medallions.
- If done correctly, the Secondary Vault will open and the Ancient Tribute Vault will be yours!
Hackers must be quick in their looting. If a hacker is stuck behind after closing the safe doors, they will drown when the safe is flooded.
Once you escape with your new loot, you will unlock new distinctions and veils. If you are successful with the Chest of Ancient Tributes, you will gain an additional reward and a set of veils.
