In Desperados III's third mission "Troublemakers in Flagstaff", you never know exactly who the troublemakers are. These could be the four targets you need to assassinate, but we're willing to bet that the troublemakers are actually Cooper and Hector themselves. You can remove your targets as you see fit, but there are some nifty tips you can use for each of them. Remove the four with "crashes" and you will also receive one of the badges from this mission.
Jarvis vs. Cow
You can attack your targets in any order, but Jarvis is the closest and arguably the easiest. To get closer to him, you just have to go up from the bottom of the map and methodically eliminate all the enemies you see so as not to get caught. Once you're close enough to Jarvis and his pasture, wait for him to go say hello to his cow, then flip a coin at the animal. The cow goes gouge Jarvis to a quick (but painful) death. Anyone who sees him will be worried for a few seconds, but he will not be alarmed and will soon resume his day.
Wild Marge vs. poison
To get to Wild Marge, you'll want to go up the map from where you killed Jarvis and to the brothel. There are several ways to enter, but we have found the easiest to get around the west side, through the post office. Again, pick up all the gunmen you need and head to the back-outside of the brothel until you reach the entrance to the room with some whiskey casks (in the upper left corner of the image above). You can poison the whiskey cask, but you will need to get poison first. A poison bottle is located inside the brothel, on a table towards the back of the second floor (in the photo above, where you see the smoke in the lower right corner of the brothel). Follow the patterns of the enemies in the house and kill all the gunmen you need as you sneak up to the second floor to catch the poison. You don't have to worry about the bartender going around on a loop because she won't trigger an alarm when she sees you. Once you get the poison, go back down to the room with the whiskey cask, poison the cask, then exit from there.
McBane against the wall
McBane hangs out around the construction site on the right side of the map. Contacting him is not too difficult, although it does take time. You will have to eliminate a large number of the armed men around him in order to climb into the house under construction (and visible in the image above). Once you've taken out a good number of the gunmen in the area, you should be able to kill the poncho man in the half-built house without anyone noticing. Then all you have to do is wait for McBane to walk around inspecting his half-built house, interacting with the shoddy wall, and he'll fall and crush it.
The duke against the bell
The Duke may seem like a hotspot with the way he struts around town in the sight of tons of civilians, but firing him is actually pretty easy. Go up the right side of the map, climb some ivy on the cliffs to move to the back of the church. Wait for an opening to jump and climb to the top of the church, then all you have to do is wait for the duke to stand below.
All other badges
Killing all four targets in a fun way will earn you a badge, but there are also these others to get:
- Do not kill or knock down anyone in the area of the tracks.
- The train tracks are around McBane. It might make it fall off the wall and hit it a bit trickier, but with a few well whistles from Hector, you can distract enough people to get to the top of the house and get the job done.
- Do not touch bushes or haystacks.
- Listen to 10 private conversations.
- You can zoom in on NPCs conversations with the camera and get advice from them without having to approach your party.
- Kill three mission targets at the same time.
- This one requires you to take out a good number of the gunmen on the map so that you can move around more easily. Once you've got enough people not to get caught, poison the whiskey cask and then have each character run towards a different target. Use Showdown Mode to schedule a simultaneous attack, then just wait for Wild Marge to start drinking their whiskey.
- Speedrun: Complete the mission in under 7:00 p.m.
For the last badge, you'll need to bury Josh near the church. This is Josh:
Who knows what he did to deserve such a spell, but all you have to do is wait for an opening, kill him, and throw him to the grave.
Remember, these badges were designed to be completed in multiple races, so feel free to adjust the difficulty and replay the missions as you see fit.
