You are not alone if you have trouble installing Star Wars: Squadrons through the Epic Games Store. Many players, who purchased the title of EA Motive through this digital store, were not able to install the game on their computers and they are not satisfied with it.
Star Wars: Squadrons is available for purchase for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, but the latter option is the only platform that has had installation issues. Players have taken to the official game forums, and its Reddit page, to state that they cannot get their hands on the game when they have already paid for it.
Players, who reached out to EA about the issue, were told it was an issue on Epic's side. Those who bought Squadrons through the Epic Games Store were supposed to have received an activation code by email, but those codes never arrived. However, after other players contacted Epic about the codes, they were told it was EA's fault for not providing the codes in the first place.
Epic Games has since tweeted that they are investigating the issue alongside EA and will have an update soon. Contrary to reports, however, Epic has revealed that players shouldn't need an activation code, for the Origin launcher, with which to install Squadrons.
We are currently investigating issues with installing Star Wars squads through the Epic Games launcher. The game should not require players to enter an activation code through the Origin launcher.
