To shop online without entering the data associated with your credit card, you were advised to use Postepay: the rechargeable Poste 2022ne card thanks to which you can easily transfer money and make purchases on the Web. Without thinking too much about it, you have therefore tried to activate the card in question, but all your attempts to succeed have not given the desired outcome.
If things are exactly as I described them, don't worry: I can explain to you how to activate Postepay providing you with all the information you need to succeed in your intent. In the next paragraphs of this guide, in fact, you will find all the solutions available to request a new prepaid card from Poste 2022ne. Furthermore, I will show you how to renew and activate an expired Postepay.

How to activate Postepay at the post office
The only solution for activate Postepay is to go in person to a post office and request the famous Poste 2022ne prepaid card from a cashier operator. After providing the required documents and completing the payment, the issued Postepay can be used immediately without further activation procedures.
If you do not know where the nearest post office is, first connect to the official website of Poste 2022ne and allow the browser to locate it (or, alternatively, enter your address in the field Look for post offices e clicca sull'icona della magnifying glass).
Then press on yellow placeholder relating to the post office of your interest, to view its telephone number, complete address and driving directions (by clicking on the option Directions). Also, by clicking on the button Book ticket, you can "program" the date and time of your shift at the counter, thus avoiding any waiting.
Alternatively, you can find a post office and book a ticket also using thePost Office app for Android devices (if you have a smartphone without Play Store, you can download it from an alternative store) or iOS / iPadOS. In that case, click on the button Choose your post office and allow the app in question to access your location, to view the post offices in your area.
At this point, if your intention is activate Postepay Standard, that is the classic Postepay that has no management cost and that allows both to make online purchases and to withdraw money at ATMs, all you have to do is go in person to the nearest post office, equipped with a valid identification document and yours fiscal Code.
Then contact a Poste 2022ne employee, request the activation of a new Postepay and provide the required documents. Finally, do the first recharge (minimum 5 euros) and, after completing the payment (Postepay Standard has a activation fee of 10 euros), you will be given your new Postepay and the related documentation.
Now, if you do not have a Poste 2022ne account yet, I suggest you register so that you can fully enjoy all the advantages deriving from the use of Postepay and always keep an eye on the movements of your card through the service Internet Banking.
To do this, connected to the official website of Poste 2022ne, select the option My Area, at the top right, and press on the item Sign Up in the menu that opens. Then enter all the data requested in the sections Personal data e Credenziali, affix the necessary check marks to accept the terms of service andPrivacy Policy and click on the button for create an account.
In the same way you can proceed using thePostepay app for Android (also available on alternative stores, for devices without Google services) and iOS / iPadOS. For the detailed procedure, I leave you to my guide on how to register on Poste 2022ne.
If, on the other hand, you have PosteID activated, the digital identity of Poste 2022na, you can access the online services of the 2022na company without creating a new account. In that case, my guide on how to access SPID Poste may be useful.
Once this is done, you can access the online management section of Postepay to check all your movements and take advantage of all the other services available, such as the ability to top up Postepay online, make payments, transfer money and much more.
Finally, if you are wondering how to activate Postepay from ATM, I'm sorry to tell you that it is not possible to do this: the only operations available at the ATM Postamat e banking displaying the brand VISA o VISA Electron, are those relating to the withdrawal, the recharge of the card and the control of the available balance.
How to activate Postepay online
As I have already mentioned to you in the previous chapters of this guide, it is not possible activate Postepay online since the only solution to do this is to go to a post office. However, you should know that through thePostepay app for smartphones and tablets it is possible to request and activate Postepay Digital.
If you have never heard of it before, you should know that it is a virtual card that allows you to make online payments and, by associating it with Google Pay, even in physical stores. At the time of writing this guide, the Postepay Digital card can be activated for free and has no management cost, while requesting the card with an associated IBAN has an activation cost of 15 € (12 euros for the first year fee and 3 euros for the balance on the card). If you think this is the card that best suits your needs and you would like activate Postepay from the app, take your smartphone, start the Postepay app (Android / iOS / iPadOS) and press the button Discover visible in the box Buy a Postepay. In the new screen that appears, tap the button Request related to Postepay Digital card and press on the item Start.
At this point, select the option Personal data, award-winning Open camera, take a picture of the front and back of yours tax code / health card, making sure that all data is readable and press the button ✓. Once this is done, select one of the available options (Paper identity card, Passport, Driver's license etc.) in the drop-down menu Select document, press the button again Open camera and take a picture of the document in question, following the instructions shown on the screen.
Then enter the required data in the fields Full name, Last name e Tax Code and, if necessary, create your Poste 2022ne account. If, on the other hand, you see the message You are already registered on Poste.com!, award-winning Continue, enter the data associated with your Poste 2022ne account in the appropriate fields and press the button Log in.
On the screen Document data, enter the data of the document you selected and photographed previously, tap the button Continue, enter i data relating to your residence e premi sui pulsnti Continue e Confirmation. Finally, enter your contact details in the fields Mobile phone ed Email e fai tap sull'opzione Continue per due turn consecutive.
Now, select yours nation of citizenship and yours tax residence, specify what your work situation is via the drop-down menu Select activity and, if requested, enter the data relating to your business (eg. Performed activity, VAT number etc.). Then indicate if you have other sources of income, placing the check mark next to the options of your interest between None, Business activity, Corporate equity investments, Financial investments etc., specify which one is yours last declared total gross annual income and what use you will mainly make of the Postepay Digital card.
Once this is done, enter the phone number you wish to associate with the card in the field Mobile number, fai tap sul pulsating Confirmation, enter the verification code that was sent to you via SMS in the appropriate field and press the button again Continue per due turn consecutive.
Finally, tap on the item Expense information document, to open and read the document in question and tap the buttons I have read e Continue, to complete the section relating to your financial data. At this point, you will have to wait a few minutes for all the data previously entered to be verified by Poste 2022ne.
Once the verification is complete, start the Postepay app again, access the section Contract signature, fai tap sul pulsating Continue, enter the necessary check marks to accept the contractual conditions of Postepay Digital and enter the verification code that was sent to you via SMS in the appropriate field, to digitally sign the forms in question.
Once this is done, choose whether to associate the additional options available on the screen to your Postepay Digital Optional services (e.g. associate an IBAN) and, in the section Payment and recognition, follow the instructions shown on the screen to further verify your identity and complete the payment of the card (if you have not added paid options, the card is free).
How to activate renewed Postepay
If you are wondering how to activate Postepay expired, all you have to do is request the renewal, possible from 2 months before and up to 18 months after the expiry date of the card.
To request the renewal of your expired or expiring Postepay, you can go to a post office in your area (bringing the card in your possession with you) and contact a cashier operator, who will provide you with a new Postepay already active and ready for use free of charge.
Alternatively, you can call the free number 800.00.33.22 and, after listening to the welcome message, request the renewal of your Postepay from a real Poste 2022ne operator. In this case, you will receive the new card for free directly at home and you will have to activate it: to do so, connected to the official website of Poste 2022ne, click on the button Activate Postepay, enter the data associated with your Poste 2022ne account (or log in with SPID) and press the button Log in.
In the new screen displayed, enter the number of the new Postepay in the field New card number, enter the required data in the section Due diligence questionnaire and click on the button Continue, to activate the renewed Postepay.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to renew your Postepay online and in complete autonomy, connected to the official Postepay website, log in with the credentials associated with your account and, in the section Riepilogo for the card to be renewed, click on the button Renew immediately.
On the screen Renew your Postepay, make sure your residential address is correct (if not, click on the pencil to change it) and press the buttons Continue e Request SMS code, to receive a verification code via SMS: then enter the code in question in the field SMS code and click on the button Continue, to verify your identity and request the renewal of your Postepay.
Also in this case, the new card will be sent directly to your home and, once received, you can proceed with its activation by following the instructions I previously provided to activate a renewed Postepay by telephone.
How to activate Postepay Evolution
The procedure for activate Postepay Evolution, the prepaid card of Poste 2022ne which, through an associated IBAN, also allows you to receive credit for your salary or pension, to arrange and receive bank transfers and home utilities, is almost identical to what I have previously indicated to activate a Postepay Standard.
In fact, even in this case you will have to go to a post office in your area and request the card in question from a cashier who will start the issue procedure. After providing all the required documents and completing the payment (the Postepay Evolution card has a issue cost of 5 euros and 15 euros of minimum top-up, in addition to a annual fee of 12 euros), you will be provided with the card in question already active and ready to use.
At this point, you can create an account on Poste 2022ne (if you don't have one yet) and access the section relating to the management of Postepay cards, to monitor all the movements of your card and activate the services of your interest.
