Not only is Halo: The Master Chief Collection optimized for Xbox Series X and S, but there are a number of other additions for the game itself as well. New features
- Halo 4 is now available on PC!
- Halo 4's Forge Mode now includes 'Thorage' content - that means new features, a higher budget, dozens of new items and more
- Per-piece armor customization and 'global' weapon skins for all loadouts are now also available on all platforms
- PC players can now access cross-game playlists in Campaign
- Cross-play and entry-based matchmaking for multiplayer now available on Xbox and PC
- While players will be prompted to select their preferred input device when they first launch the game, this option can also be changed at any time from the Settings menu from the main menu.

- Xbox Series X: 4K resolution at 60 or 120 Hz in single-player and two-player split-screen modes
- Xbox Series S: 1080p resolution at 60 or 120 Hz in single-player and two-player split-screen modes
- Xbox Series X and Series S will run "enhanced" graphics settings similar to PC's
- Field of view (FOV) can be adjusted via a slider ranging from 70 to 120 degrees
- Setting the FOV requires the console to be set to 60Hz output, The FOV will be locked at the default when the console is set to 120Hz output
- Several improvements to the split-screen experience
- Four-player split screen operates at 60 frames per second (FPS)
- Reduction or elimination of performance acceleration of original titles
- In-game HDR (High Dynamic Range) options have been added to the Settings menu
- Quick pick-up and smart delivery are supported
- Improved resolution
- Season 4 has arrived with over 70 new customization choices - including new nameplates, weapon and vehicle skins for Halo 3, and weapon skins for Halo 4!
- Interpolation improvements for Halo: Reach, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 4 when running over 60 FPS
- Player emblems are now visible in-game for Halo: Reach and Halo 4
- Video settings can now be set by title in the Settings menu
- Players can now select their preferred servers from the Network tab of the Settings menu
- Text chat has been improved with a new option of text chat availability and automatic moderation

- Many of the improvements come from Insider feedback reported by our community during or after the Halo 4 flight period. Thank you for participating and keep submitting your tickets! Below is a list of fixes for this update:
Global
- Players will no longer be returned to the main menu when loading into online multiplayer matches in Halo 3: ODST
- Unlocked customization items will no longer appear locked during data retrieval from the Season menu, which will reduce the occurrence of bogus exclamation point notifications next to items already unlocked
- The Weapon Appearance menu for Halo 3 will now accurately display the appearance of the highlighted weapon.
- Seasonal Rewards menu nameplates now have the correct size and resolution
- The Magnum is now correctly named in the Halo customization menus: CE and Halo 3
- Dare's visor color is now consistent between the Halo 3: ODST customization menu and in-game
- Various localization improvements have been implemented in the menus
- The "Show cards in this reading list" menu now always displays a number of cards
- Fixed an issue where cards were often duplicated or displayed incorrectly in the 'Show cards in this playlist' menu after matchmaking
- Added dynamic name scaling in challenge progress notifications to resolve text clipping issues
Halo 4
- General
- Increased the volume of the switching grenade audio signal, making it audible again
- Adjusted the time it takes to trigger hold or zoom in tilt behavior with a weapon
- Correct sound effect is now played when melee attacking objects and walls

- Terminal access now plays in-game video rather than the Halo Channel app
- The skybox of the mission "Reclaimer" has been improved and is now clearer
- Spartan operations
- Spartan Ops episodes now play in menus rather than the Halo Channel app
- Added support for Spartan Ops for PvE challenges
- Multiplayer
- Weapon audio is no longer cut after firing in the sword room on "Pitfall"
- The correct emblem is now displayed when starting a Free-For-All match
- Custom emblems now appear on armor in-game
- Some maps are no longer brighter than normal when playing local split screen on Xbox One consoles
- Fixed an issue where the shadows of smithy items were not displayed correctly
- Fixed an issue where various toy items such as golf balls and dice would disappear almost instantly
- Fixed various issues where incorrect or duplicated powerful weapons were present in matchmaking
- Fixed an issue that caused instability and sometimes network disconnections from matches played on Forge maps
Halo 3: ODST

- Fixed an issue causing incorrect shadows to appear on certain objects on enhanced graphics

- Fixed an issue causing multiple sound events to trigger instead of one, resulting in repeated voice dialogue from alliance enemies and player actions

- Improved the appearance of weapon skins on Combat Rifles in gameplay
Halo 2: anniversary

- Adjusted the time it takes to trigger hold or zoom in tilt behavior with a weapon
- Forge
- Maintained objects now move smoothly when playing back with frame rates above 60 FPS
- Non-host players can now use the Toggle Rotation Axes feature as intended
- The Edit Mode Controls window in the Pause menu now lists the binding for toggle rotation axes
- Fixed an issue where "Toggle Rotation Axes" is displayed in English in other locations
Halo: Evolved Combat
