What we are about to tell you is nothing more than a project under development from the research section of Moutain View - Google ATAP - who had in mind to design a technology that was capable of control our devices simply by moving your fingers, in the most natural way you can think of. This mission was called Project Soli and it was not the only one to come in to the boys of the ATAP division: projects such as Tango, Ara, Jacquard, Aura and others that we have already mentioned in the past.
In Google, however, you know, things get serious and these projects are not just brilliant ideas thrown there by chance but slowly become reality: last year, Google ATAP delivered some prototypes of Project Soli to lucky developers scattered around the world; in the video above we can admire what Project Soli has become today and that Google proudly showed during the Google I/O 2016! Far from an idea.
For those who do not yet know it well, Project Soli is a concentrate of sophisticated technology agglomerated in a device of just two centimeters capable of spatially "perceiving" what surrounds it thanks to the use of sensors radar. In this way we just need to bring our hand to the device and make a gesture that remembers what you want to do: think most spontaneously about how you would use your fingers to zoom in, raise the volume, scroll through a list, select ...and do it! That's what Project Soli is.
If you want to know more about Project Soli, I invite you to watch thededicated video article above and below, where you can see the actual potential of this device with your own eyes.
The video shows all the gestures and movements that can be thought of to control the technology that surrounds us. Think about speakers, smartphones, smartwatches and so on. On the dedicated page, however, you will find other interesting videos of the other projects made in Google that we have mentioned above and which, of course, are still more than concrete today!
