Forge of Empires Guide Resources and City Development | Forge of Empires is a management game for Android and iOS in which the player must take over the management of an entire city and bring it to its maximum splendor. As per tradition for the genre, managing to develop the city at its best is not an easy mechanic to master right from the start and above all it requires a lot of dedication and time to spend on the game.
In this guide Forge of Empires , we offer you some methods to maximize the development of the city in the shortest possible time and to get a large amount of resources quickly.

Forge of Empires Guide | How to speed up the development of the city
After a few minutes of play, each player will reach the first era of game development: the Bronze Age. Development in this era is fast (especially compared to other eras) - every technology can be easily unlocked and new buildings and units appear one after the other. However, it is worth knowing what to do to further accelerate this process: this method can then be adapted to the rest of the game.
The method differs depending on how much time the player can devote to Forge of Empires . The dynamics are the same, basically, but there are some differences to keep in mind.
Method for players who often access the game
This method only works when the player can access the game frequently (several times a day) to gather resources and plan further developments.
First of all you have to concentrate on building as many huts and stilts as possible: both buildings allow you to collect coins frequently (5 and 15 minutes) and increase the population.
Then you have to build 3-4 pottery workshops to start producing supplies: it is better to order 5 or 15 minutes productions to maximize earnings.
After building the houses and starting the supply production, you should build 2 Barracks for warriors fighting with spears and train 8 units. This will allow you to gain control of several starting provinces and give you access to more goods and land.
Now you need to focus on your quest to unlock the Forge and Blacksmith Building.
Replace all the Laboratories now with Blacksmiths (and, if necessary, also build additional Blacksmiths): this will increase supply production and reduce population consumption.
You must keep the satisfaction of your people at 120%. To do this, create buildings from the tab "Decorations" that require a 1×1 space - Tree, Menhir, Statue .
Once you have your Lancers, try to conquer the first areas. These units should be enough to take control of Dunarsund, Tyr, Fel Dranghyr, Hymir, Badakus and Paruuch. If your Lancers are killed in action, you can easily replace them.
Now you have to unlock the technologies associated with the assets you can get by conquering the provinces. They can be wood (wood), stone (stone) or cultivation (wine or dye). Build only those buildings for which you have obtained goods.
Now unlock Teaching, Crafts, Preparation and Fertilization. These technologies will give you access to the Tavern which will give a great boost to the satisfaction of the population, as well as two extensions of the land. Use the extensions to get a new piece of land, build the Tavern and eliminate all unnecessary 1×1 decoration buildings.
You should also unlock the Route technology fairly quickly. This unlocks a new type of road. This route increases your people's satisfaction by 5 points (per card) - this allows you to get great satisfaction and free valuable space for other buildings.
Further development requires you to build more houses (those that generate coins every 15 minutes) and more locksmiths (use 5 and 15 minute productions) while keeping your people's satisfaction at 120%.
Search for more technologies until you reach the Iron Age. Here the principle is the same: build houses and production buildings, collect coins and supplies every 15 minutes and unlock buildings that produce goods to which you have access through the conquered provinces.
Method for those with little access to the game
A method similar to the one presented above, but not very time consuming. Unfortunately, it will not allow you to develop the city at the same speed.
The first few hours of play should look exactly the same as in the previous method: build lots of huts and stilts and 3-4 workshops.
Unlock Chalet technology as quickly as possible and replace houses with Chalets. Do not require access to the game so often (once every 4 hours), give more people and a fair amount of coins.
Now focus on research to unlock the Forge and replace all the Laboratories with Blacksmiths. Start here production cycles of 4 or 8 hours (especially for the night).
Try to keep satisfaction at 120%. To do this, use buildings from the "Decorations" tab, such as Tree, Menhir and Statue.
Position 2 Lancer Barracks and train 8 units there. Use them to conquer Dunarsund, Tyr, Fel Dranghyr, Hymir, Badakus and Paruuch.
Depending on the products acquired, it unlocks the appropriate technologies: woodworking (wood), stone working (stone) or cultivation (wine or dyeing). Build only those buildings for which you have obtained goods.
Now unlock Teaching, Crafts, Preparation and Fertilization. These technologies will give you access to the Tavern which will give a great boost to the satisfaction of the population. Use the extensions to get a new piece of land, build the Tavern and eliminate all unnecessary 1×1 decoration buildings.
Unlock Routes and use the new road type to get additional satisfaction points.
Research new technologies until you reach the Iron Age. Replace buildings: chalets must be replaced with cottages, blacksmiths with goat farms or butchers. Unlock buildings that produce goods to which you have access through the conquered provinces.
Forge of Empires | Guide to Forge Points
The Forge Points are probably the most essential element of the game. Points are mainly used to conduct research that allows you to unlock multiple buildings and eventually evolve into a new era. However, the tricky part here is that you only have limited Forge Points to consume. The Forge points bar will only show a maximum of 10 points (the limit will eventually increase). Once a point is consumed, it will automatically reload after one hour. Therefore, if you have used up all available FPs, you literally have to wait 10 hours to recover them all.
For this reason, it is always important to pay attention to PF and learn how to use them wisely. Sometimes it is more important to stick to what your main research requires. During your research, make sure you spend your points on the right technology. Note that there are three main ways to earn FP. First, there are the points you earn automatically per hour. The second is by purchasing an extra point using coins (virtual currency you earn from tax collection from residential buildings). The third source is by purchasing an extra Forge point through diamonds (premium currency).
If you are tired of waiting and don't want to spend diamonds on FPs, you can create them thanks to some Great Buildings. There are many buildings that can produce Forge Points especially when you upgrade them to their maximum level. A large building like "Hagia Sophia" (from the early Middle Ages) allows you to earn one forge point at level 1 and 6 forge points when you reach level 10. The amount will increase exponentially after every 5 levels. You can also earn points from various quests, guild expeditions, events and daily rewards.
Forge of Empires Guide | How to get resources quickly
Goods are rare and valuable resources that appear in the game. Goods are not used to build buildings (excluding Large Buildings), but are used during missions and for peaceful negotiation of conflicts or corporation expeditions. Let's see how to get a good number of them as quickly as possible:
Purchase of goods
Goods are received from some sources:
- You can create them in certain production buildings
- Get them as a reward for completing missions
- Find them outside of the cities: most of the time you'll find money or supplies, but you may often receive goods from the era you're playing
- Participate in special events
- Participate in guild expeditions
Production and trade of goods
Producing goods in production buildings is the fastest method, as it allows you to gain 24 units of goods in a single day. However, the method has its limits: you should only produce those goods you have access to, otherwise the amount of resources produced will be small. Moreover, the production of goods costs resources: the cost increases with each new era.
Sooner or later you will need a certain amount of each resource, so you will have to exchange it with other players.
