From GamersLance, we want to explain the FIFA 21 Commentators: Complete List Of Commentators, Languages and More. If you like Football, this is your Video Game. Currently, the new FIFA 22 is on sale.
FIFA 21 commentary is different from previous years. If you play the latest entry in Electronic Arts' simulated soccer franchise, you may have noticed lineup changes, language issues, and other commentary problems. Here's a rundown of everything you need to know about FIFA 21's commentary changes.
Where are Martin Tyler and Alan Smith?
Martin Tyler and Alan Smith have been part of the FIFA commentary team since 2015. In previous series, this team always talked about matches as you play, but that has changed in FIFA 21.
Tyler and Smith are not on the FIFA 21 commentary roster. Derek Rae and Lee Dixon were on FIFA 19 as the commentary team for Champions League and Europa League matches, but have now replaced Tyler and Smith as the main FIFA 21 team.
Fans have expressed their displeasure at the absence of Tyler and Smith on Twitter since the start of Early Access to FIFA 21. EA has not been informed of their future integration into the game. They will have to make do with other commentators.
Who are the FIFA 21 commentators?
While Tyler and Smith are absent, there are other commentators besides Rae and Dixon for players to listen to. FIFA 21 is the first entry in the series to also feature a commentator. The full list is:
- Derek Rae - English commentator
- Lee Dixon - English commentator
- Alan McInally - English commentator, provides in-game scoring updates on other matches
- Nira Juanra - Spanish commentator
- Frank Buschmann - German commentator
- Wolf-Christoph Fuss - German commentator
- Esther Sedlaczek - German commentator, and is only present in Career mode and Champions League matches.
Why are FIFA 21 languages region-locked?
Some gamers are not happy that FIFA 21 does not support all languages. Forum user Rizk2017 asked why Arabic was not supported in some countries, such as the UK, while others wondered about the lack of language options in their part of the world.
EA community manager Cade explained that FIFA 21 uses where the game was purchased to determine which languages to support. So, for example, copies of FIFA 21 purchased in the UK support English, copies purchased in Portugal support Portuguese, etc.
This generated more confusion. Forum user JforJasonX started another thread asking why Spanish was not compatible with his UK version despite the presence of other languages. English, Norwegian, Italian, French, German, Dutch and Swedish are available, but Spanish, JforJasonX's native language, is not.
EA has yet to provide a reason why this is happening, or confirm if it's a bug, but is asking affected PlayStation 4 players to contact PlayStation Support. You can file a complaint here, but a response can take up to 48 hours. It is unclear if this affected other platforms, but we will update this guide if we hear anything related to these ports.
