Facebook has just made available a new feature that allows you to find all your movements on a map, as Google also allows for example. This map includes data going back to at least 2021, with precise information, for example on the time spent in certain places. It is possible to deactivate or activate this data collection directly in the Facebook application.
Facebook has quietly added a new card to the social network user account pages. This allows you to consult the location data recorded via the Facebook smartphone application. Data that allows you to track your daily movements, often over very long periods of time - between the time you activated the feature and when you eventually deactivated it. The option is very easy to access, directly in the pages Parameters Account.
Facebook: a new map tracks all your travels
There are at least three types of data on the map: places you've been, time spent there, and trips you've been on the move. So much data that was not previously included in the archive containing all your personal data that we can ask Facebook. Until now, location was mainly used on Facebook to associate a location with posts on the network or to tell your friends if you had been to a specific location.
To view this map:
- Connect to Facebook from your computer
- Go to Settings> Location
- Click on View your location history
You can activate or deactivate this location from your smartphone:
- Open the Facebook app
- Go to the symbol ≡ in the bottom bar then Settings and privacy
- Go to Settings> Location
- Activate or deactivate Location history
- You can also revoke Facebook's access to location data
Have you looked at this map? Are you thinking of deactivating localization or, on the contrary, leaving it activated? What are your motivations ? Share your feedback in the comments!
