Game remaster
This is an epic reconstruction. Crash Team Racing was a big game back then, but its mechanics and engine are long outdated. In addition, the other titles published in recent years hardly improve. CTR Remastered brings the best bits from all of these games but it feels solid.
The gameplay of the old games has been maintained which means that the game is still very demanding. CTR is arguably the most skill-demanding kart racer. It used to be and it is now. The maps, that is, the racing circuits, are now improved and even more difficult, they have been modified in such a way as to impress.
The characters in the game, i.e. runners, are also divided into three rough categories. Some are good in corners, some are smaller in size, others are good at high speed and acceleration, while others are versatile. They are all fairly well balanced with each other. If you are looking for a single player game, the story mode will keep you hooked. It's not just a series of races against CPU controlled opponents, but it has story, progress, store, and stuff. Naturally, split-screen multiplayer is included, which is mandatory for CTR. a perfect way to revive an old school cult favorite. The skill required to master this game is even greater now, the fun is increased and everything is as it should be. The $ 40 price tag might seem a bit steep at first glance, but if you factor in the obvious effort and success of this remake, it's well worth the price to enjoy with your friends.
