Conan Exiles is getting a brand new expansion called Isle of Siptah, which aims to bring a new map, map features, buildings, and better modding tools. Here's everything we know about it so far.
Release date
The Siptah Island Expansion is slated for early access on September 15 for PC only. The expansion is priced at $ 19,99 while it's in Early Access, and will likely increase as it goes into official release. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will eventually benefit from the expansion in early 2021. Funcom aims to release the full expansion in early 2021, which will coincide with the console's planning. There is no news on the Conan Exiles upgrade to the next generation consoles.
Contents of the Siptah Island map
Siptah Island is getting a lot of new content associated with the map. The new map takes place on an island your ship is wrecked on when you pass through the Lands of Exile. Players will start the island with a brand new character and explore the Shipwrecked Coast. From there, they'll find new outfits, construction skins such as flotsam-themed buildings, and new mounts with the Rhino joining the game.
In addition, Siptah Island enjoys exclusive map related features. Throughout the game, players will find storms raging across the island. Getting into these storms is dangerous, with enemies spawning on you becoming more powerful over time. However, players will find lucrative materials to progress through the game, making it high-risk, high-reward content.
Also, the new game will have a twist on the dungeons. This feature is known as safes. Chests are a new way to explore dungeons, each filled with new monsters, all inspired by different elements of the game. These chests contain puzzles and lore information that explain what is happening on the island.
In addition, there is a new feature called The Surge. The Surge generates a power that brings other exiled NPCs to an area that players can fight against and claim as Thralls. There are predefined locations for this, but chances are it will happen all over the world.
Base builders also get a little love. New foundation building tools are coming to the game. These new building pieces help players craft water bases and tree bases. Conan Exiles has a huge RPG and creative game community, and that will only help them build a better foundation.
Modding
Funcom has created a wonderful modding community, and Siptah Island is going to make it even better. With the new expansion, server owners have the ability to load modified maps. Players will be able to create their own world or completely modify any of Conan Exile's pre-existing maps in the game.
To load modified maps, players must download map mods in the server mod settings. Once installed, the servers will recognize that they are cards and become card options on the files and the server manager interface.
Modders have endless possibilities to create thematic maps. Over the years, Funcom has released numerous cosmetic DLCs that have created tons of assets. DLC ranges from Greek themed buildings to Conan lore with Derketo. No doubt there will be tons of new maps to explore as players get creative with the new map mod tools.
