Can you create wrestlers in WWE 2K Battlegrounds?

It's fair to say that 2K's latest sports arcade title, NBA 2K Playgrounds, was pretty rare when it comes to in-depth content. However, with the traditional WWE 2K simulator put on hold, WWE 2K Battlegrounds will receive a decent share of content. On the one hand, YouTuber Superzomgbbq released a video of the game's yet to be revealed Character Creator mode in which users can style and customize the movements of their own wrestlers.

Customizable features

Depending on the images, users can change a number of aspects of the fighters created, including gender and outfits. Similar to Playgrounds, it looks like players will need to spend some in-game cash to equip certain clothes and moves. Here is the range of options you will have at your disposal.

  • Gender: The game is not only a boys' club, the players can also create female fighters.
  • Combat class: There are five to choose from: High-Flyer, Technician, All-Rounder, Brawler, and Powerhouse.
  • Type of body: It's purely aesthetic, but we're sure it will help to have a giant fighter.
  • Size: You can't be shockingly tall, but heights range from 5'4 to 6'7.
  • Body characteristics: This deals with the age and color of the skin, both of which offer a wide range of options. Yes, you can even go green to create the Hulk.
  • Head shape: Even for an arcade title, it's pretty detailed - customize everything from ear size to chin size.
  • Vanity: This category includes various types of clothing - glasses, contact lenses, masks, hats, pants, shirts, costumes and shoes. Some take coins and other in-game currencies to unlock.
  • Accessories: There are a handful of tattoos and facial prints to choose from. There don't seem to be many, but hopefully more will be added before launch.
  • Taunts and finishers: Like Fortnite, you can equip emotes to tease your opponents, but in WWE 2K Battlegrounds, you also style the way the moves are performed.
  • Drop Pods: Instead of entering the arena, you'll land via a space capsule. The character creator includes some interesting choices, such as coffins, trash cans, and disco ball capsules.
  • Name / Alias: Users can name their wrestlers however they want, but the game's advertisers will call you by one of the many aliases. So be sure to choose from the list of nicknames before you are done with your creation.

WWE 2K's Battlegrounds will hit store shelves September 18 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
