If you liked Call of Duty Modern Warfare, you must definitely wait for Warzone, the battle royale mode associated with it. Available on PS4, Xbox One and Windows, Warzone requires a few prerequisites to be able to dive into a game. We tell you what to do.
If you are fans of the Call of Duty series, you certainly know what Warzone is. For the others, here is a quick recap. This is the battle royale mode offered by Activision and margin the Modern Warfare (not to be confused with the latter's multiplayer). Since the advent of Fortnite and PUBG, the battle royale is all the rage in online games, especially those accessible " free " (but where some items can be bought with real euros). All the major game publishers have developed a battle royale, whether or not associated with a reference title. In the case of Activision, it is therefore Warzone.

On March 10, Warzone therefore arrived. It's free. This means that there is no need to buy anything to benefit from it. It is not even not mandatory to own Modern Warfare, even if those who scoured the latter's campaign up and down will obviously benefit. The title is offered on Windows, Xbox One et PS4. And best of all, the games include players from all three platforms at the same time. In addition, if you install Warzone on two different machines, the function shared backup allows you to find your progress on each one. And be careful not to get caught cheating ...
How to install and play Warzone on Xbox One or PS4?
You still need to be able to install the game on your machine. The procedure is not complicated, but a few details should be known. On console first of all, to install Warzone, all you have to do is go to the official store of your console (Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store) and look for Warzone there. The application is free, but you still have to validate its purchase.
If you don't have Modern Warfare, you're going to have to download the complete pack, i.e. 100 GB of data. So be patient, especially if you are connected by ADSL. If you are the lucky owner of the base game, you will only have ten gigabytes to download.
If you are playing on PlayStation 4, you will not need a PlayStation Plus account to access the game. However, if you are playing on Xbox One, you will need to have a compte Xbox Live Gold to connect you.
How to install and play Warzone on PC?
On PC, the situation is different. An intermediate step is added: Battle.net. If you are already a user of the service, skip these few lines and go to the next paragraph. Otherwise, let's continue together. Activision-Blizzard's online gaming service serves as Gateway to Warzone. You will therefore need to install the Battle.net client after downloading it. Once this task is done, you need to create an account.
After logging into Battle.net with your account, you should find Warzone. You will find it in the section dedicated to Modern Warfare (you haven't forgotten that Warzone is a Modern Warfare add-on, right?), which is located in the Partnership tab (because Blizzard and Activision are “partners”).
You will then have to download the installation pack, the weight of which will depend on the presence or not of Modern Warfare on your machine. 175 GB of available space is recommended by Activision if not. Note that even if you own the base game, you will need to go through Battle.net to access Warzone.
