The first thing you will notice of Asus Designo Curve MX38VC is undoubtedly the panel: an IPS LCD with a resolution of 3840 x 1600 pixels and a curvature of 2300R.
The space at your disposal is really a lot, but also the quality is not to be underestimated. Of course, there is no HDR, the brightness is 300cd / m2 and the contrast is 1000: 1. In short, nothing surprising or particularly innovative. However, the Asus Designo Curve MX38VC has a few tricks in the machine that make the experience particularly satisfying. First of all it comes to 1.07 billion colors, albeit with a small trick: the colors are in fact 8-bit, a technology to which most monitors have accustomed us and which allows you to have 16,7 million different shades. The Asus monitor, however, uses the FRC (Frame Rate Control), a system that allows you to have an image similar to that offered by a 10-bit monitor. Et voila, this brings us to 1,07 billion colors.
We also have the technology on board Asus SplendidPlus which optimizes videos and images to improve brightness, contrast and sharpness. You just have to select the mode by choosing between standard, sRGB, scenery, theater, game, night, reading and darkroom.
There is no shortage of the now widespread blue light filter, which will preserve your sight during prolonged use, and the technology Flicker-free, which reduces blinking and promotes visual comfort.
The display isn't the only interesting part of the monitor though. There base, circular and partially transparent, includes the ricarica wireless Qi, which allows you to give compatible smartphones a boost of energy. Using the menu OSD (On-Screen-Display) you can decide whether to use this function even when the monitor is in stand-by.
Speaking of OSD, find the dedicated button at the bottom, in the center. There is no shortage then the audio settings which include volume, source and the ability to choose between Music, Movie, Game and User modes. We also point out the presence of integrated Bluetooth, which means you can use the monitor as a big speaker. The two 10 W speakers each give you a decidedly high volume even if at the maximum level it tends to distort a little.

Work and play with just one monitor
To understand if Asus Designo Curve MX38VC is really for you, you must first understand what you are going to use it for. If you are looking for an HDR visual experience and pure 4K, this is not for you. However, if you aim for the versatility it is undoubtedly an interesting option and we will immediately explain why.
We have been using the Asus monitor to work for over a month and it was a real pleasure. You can place two huge windows side by side and work in total serenity, the panel's rendering is very good, both in terms of chromatic fidelity and brightness, and the viewing angles only more than satisfactory.
To this, of course, add wireless charging as well as PIP and PBP, which can be used both at home, if you work with two different devices, and in the office, where it facilitates collaboration with colleagues.
It's not bad for gaming either. Of course, the refresh rate reaches a maximum of 75 Hz, but if you don't dedicate yourself to highly competitive titles you will hardly notice the difference. On the contrary, you will appreciate the immersion that a 21-inch 9: 38 panel offers you.
The format also goes very well with watching movies and TV series. A use that I strongly suggest you considering the size of the monitor.

Asus Designo Curve MX38VC it is not a monitor for all tastes and budgets. First of all, it costs 1399 € and also because not everyone wants such a large display with this particular format. But if you don't have budget problems, if you want to do an investment that is both useful for your working life and for entertainment, if you are looking for a product that stands on your desk, this MX38VC could really be for you. Not only will it provide you with plenty of space and a satisfying panel, but it will surprise you with more than discreet audio and the convenience of wireless charging.
Ah, one last piece of information: know that there is also a 34-inch version that you can find on Amazon for just over 700 euros. It could be a good compromise if you want to save a little bit.
