The Battle Pass can be leveled without paying a dime, but the best rewards are in the premium track.
That shouldn't surprise anyone at this point, but it has to be said: there's a free track and a premium track in the Season 4 Battle Pass. The free pass is, well, pretty slim on the rewards. It features a Season 4 destruction tracker for each legend, five Apex packs (the lootboxes), and a Caustic skin that's buried deep at level 60.
While I don't mean to tell anyone how to spend their money, I will say this: if you plan to upgrade this pass, you can also pay the 950 Apex Coins needed to unlock the premium track. This works out to around $ 10, although you can still use leftovers from previous seasons if you have any. Whereas the cheapest coin pack you can buy is the $ 10 price tag means you'll need exactly 950 coins, or you'll have to drop a Hamilton on the pass (or, whatever your regional equivalent is).
You can also spend 2 coins to go straight to level 800 if you're so inclined (and you'll immediately unlock the Wraith's Perfect Soldier skin), but leveling up the Battle Pass isn't hard, so only do this if you have money to burn. You can also pay to level the pass after purchasing it, but that's not why you're reading this article here, right? Also, you can't pay beyond level 25, so if you want to earn the level 100 reward, you have to play.
Upgrading the Battle Pass involves three different tasks.
That out of the way, leveling the Battle Pass in Season 4 comes down to three things: performing well in the game, completing daily challenges, and completing weekly challenges. Good in-game performance is exactly what it says on the tin - the more Battle Pass experience you get, the better you perform. However, this match experience does not directly contribute to the Battle Pass, but a weekly reset challenge, I go into more detail below. Having said that, you don't want to sleep on your game experience. A longer lifespan gives a good deal of experience if you're still working on eliminations, as does helping your teammates revive. If you can eradicate enemy players, you will accumulate more experience, and getting that sweet victory will earn you even more.
To break it down more concisely, experience is rewarded for:
- Win a match (900 points)
- Finish in the top 5 (300 points)
- Living time (3 points every second)
- Victims (50 points per kill)
- Damage inflicted (.25 points for every 1 damage inflicted)
- Revive a downed ally (25 points per revive)
- Reappearance of an ally (200 points per ally)
- First kill of the day (500 points, and resets daily)
- First game of the day (10 points and daily reset)
- Kill the match champions (500 points per player in the champion's team)
- Entering a match as a champion (500 points)
- Become a leader to kill in a match (50 points)
- Play with a friend for a + 5% boost to exp.
- Play with two friends for a + 10% boost for one exp.
These also level up your account rank, which means 45 free Apex Packs if you are below rank 100. If you are new to Apex Legends, focus on maximizing your living time and learning how to do it. the map. Rekindle your teammates when safe and collect Respawn Tokens when you have clear fire on a Respawn Beacon. Experienced players will start adding destruction experience to the stack, and eventually getting into the top five will become more common. But, to effectively level the Battle Pass, focus on living time if you're struggling to kill.
The second method of leveling the Battle Pass in Season 4 is by completing Daily Challenges. These reset at 3am PST, and can vary from tasks as simple as playing two rounds with a certain character, dealing a set amount of damage in a single match, or dropping into a specific area. These appear on the left of the launch screen, and you can see more challenges via the button under Daily Challenges. These cannot be repeated once they have been reset, so if you plan to play only for short bursts, be sure to focus on these as they each reward 3 Battle Passes.
The third way to level up your Battle Pass in Season 4 is to complete the Weekly Challenges to Unlock Constantly. These tend to be more complicated than the Daily Challenges (because - as the name suggests - you're supposed to be working on them over the course of a week), but they can be completed at any point in the season once you've finished. 'they are available. If you're behind on your Battle Pass, these are the challenges you need to consider.
The rewards for a weekly challenge vary between a set amount of experience or a battle pass level (four are worth 6 experience and three are worth a level). Under each challenge, there will be a diamond to indicate the number of stages in a challenge, with a diamond indicating that there is only one task you need to complete to earn the reward.
The weekly challenges are also somewhat hit and miss. They are grouped into pools, and the pool you receive for a week may be different from what your classmates or friends see. This means that teams working on their weekly challenges will have to coordinate with each other and cannot assume that everyone is working on the same goals.
That said, but by the end of a season everyone will have seen each of the pools, so if there's a particular challenge giving you hell halfway through the season, there's a good chance whether we or someone else have a guide for it. Additionally, there are three defined Weekly Challenges that reset each week, but are straightforward: Complete five Daily Challenges in one week, complete 10 Daily Challenges in one week, and earn 9000 Match / Battle Pass experiences per week (the one -this is unlimited, but the required experience will double until reset). Each of these three rewards a Battle Pass level. Weekly challenges unlock or refresh on Tuesday mornings at 3 a.m.
Something that needs to be stomped on really quickly: All of the Battle Pass experience carries over into this weekly reset, so the more you grind the longer it will take to level the pass each week. The key is to find a balance between daily challenges and weekly challenges.
So if you want to upgrade your Battle Pass as quickly as possible, you need to focus on the Daily Challenges first, then your Weekly Challenges, and then both with your in-game performance. Think about in-game performance running in parallel. to the challenges, and be on the lookout for any weekly challenges that overlap with a daily challenge (like dealing x-amount of damage with a specific weapon type).
As long as you're on top of your challenges, you'll find the Battle Pass a cinch to maximize. As of February 4, players have 90 days to complete the pass before the start of the next season, which is a healthy three-month window. Even casual gamers can get the coveted Cyberpunked skin for Wattson: it's earned at level 50, so doing your dailies alone should get you across the line.
