Infinite Halo is without a doubt one of the most anticipated Xbox Series X launch titles. It will be the final entry in Halo franchise history, but you might have a few questions ahead of its release. On the one hand, why is it called Infinite? Will it be an open world game? Will you be able to make a full circle around a whole Halo ring? Or is it because there won't be any more entries in the series from now on - pivoting the Master Chief's escapades to a “games as a service” model?
Either way, we know you'll come back to killing aliens with a lot of classic weapons - and some new ones, too. Here are all the weapons that are currently confirmed to be Halo Infinite.
Rifles
- Assault rifle
- This classic dates back to the first in the series, Halo: Combat Evolved. It's not exactly the most "advanced" weapon we can imagine - it's your standard machine gun - but that familiar thud that sprays 36 bullets in rapid succession is sweet nostalgic music to our ears.
- Combat rifle
- Another classic weapon, the BR55 combat rifle also seems to be making a comeback.
- Pulse rifle
- A twist on an old alien favorite, this new version of the rifle is capable of firing at a faster speed, with three round bursts. Nonetheless, it still has that great pew-pew sound effect.
- Commando VK78
- This sniper rifle is a new weapon for the Halo universe, but it looks as satisfying as any of the others.
Guns
- Plasma gun
- It wouldn't be a Halo game if it weren't for the little Grunts running around with those pea shooters. Looks like they're back in full "force" here.
- MK50 Sidekick
- The Sidekick isn't exactly the same as the classic M6G, but hopefully it's still going to be a head-pulling machine.
- lacking
- This all-new addition to the Halo Arsenal looks like a sci-fi revolver. We are not complaining.
SMG
- Needler
- Ah, the Needler. He looks cool and blows people up after piercing them with enough needles. What more could you ask for?
Shotgun
- Bulldog CQS48
- This might be new to the Armory Halo, but you can't do more to innovate with a shotgun. This is a shotgun. Chances are, this is very useful for doing what shotguns do.
Launchers
- Pest
- This new plasma rocket launcher appears to do what rocket launchers do (blow things up), while also featuring a pretty nifty bayonet-type device up front.
Melee
- Energy sword
- Who said you shouldn't bring a sword to a shootout? As long as you can rush with this killing machine, we think it will be fine.
There you go, there will surely be more weapons revealed on the road, but so far it feels like a nice mix of new weapons with old favorites.
