When it comes to Apex Legends, you can count on the fact that the team behind Respawn will never let the loot list go stale. Season 6 really shakes things up and gives energy weapons their day to shine.
Let's take a look at all of the major loot changes for Season 6: Boosted.
New pistol: Volt
The newest weapon in the Apex loadout is the very first energy SMG in the game. Since there are no energy pistols or shotguns, this is the title's first close range energy weapon and of the first energy weapon compatible with a digital threat lens. The Volt is designed to be able to hit multiple targets in a short period of time.
Legendary R-99
If you've spent every game catching an R-99, say goodbye. The R-99 gets stuck in supply and for season 6 it will only be a legendary weapon. Its damage has been reduced from 11 to 12, it has a new improved magazine size of 32, and the ammo pool built is 160. This weapon is improved, but it also encourages you to be extremely precise, as many users could previously burn up to 200 easy ammo.
Demoted devotion
With the R-99 coming in, something had to come out, and this season the Devotion energy LMG has been downgraded to its old self with a base clip size of 36, and a maximum of 48. That said, it's in. does a good thing for devotional fans, as energy weapons are centered this season because of the Volt. We're excited to take this baby and burn ammo like gasoline.
Extended Energy Mag returns
If the mention of the base size and maximum clip size didn't reveal it, the Extended Energy Magazine is back. With the energy weapon lineup bigger than ever with four cannons: Volt, L-Star, Devotion, and Havoc, bringing this item back into the game will give these weapons a chance to be your first choice, rather than the last. Kit recourse these weapons to the same extent, you could a light or heavy weapon.
Turbocharger return
No season centering power gun would be complete with the turbocharger. Capable of being equipped for Havoc or Devotion, this Hop-Up eliminates the need to reload a firearm. In the case of devotion, the damage will start at its maximum, and the havoc will no longer be delayed on the first shot. The turbocharger is a legendary level.
The precision choke leaves ... sort of
Last season, the Choke could only be attached to one weapon: the Triple Take, as it was built into the legendary Peacekeeper. We were wondering if there was much life left in Hop-Up back then, but now the Perk is coming to life in a new form. The Hop-Up is gone, but the cannon starter will now be a shot selection. Switch between spread and choke at any time, automatically integrated into its two guns.
Other changes
In addition to all of these changes, the golden weapons available for the season will be the Volt, Devotion, Flatline, Mastiff, and Triple Take.
Finally, Energy ammo pickup has been reduced from 30 to 20, and Sniper ammo stacks and pickups have been increased from 16 to 24 and 8 to 12 respectively.
