However, after a few months or a few years, it begins to show some slowness and there, it is the tragedy and we are already thinking of offering new ones.
However, it is quite possible to give it back its velocity of the first days thanks to the 5 little tips described below! Here's how to speed up your Android smartphone in ten steps!
Tips to make your Android smartphone faster
1. Clear apps you don't use
How many applications that you have only used once or even twice are still on your smartphone? However, they have nothing more to do there, first because they take up space in the storage memory, then because even when closed they use part of the resources of the processor and the RAM.
To remove unnecessary application, go to the menu Settings> Device> Applications
- Select the tab "Downloaded"
- Scroll down the list
- Click on the app you want to remove
- Click on "Uninstall" then " OKAY "
Also, don't hesitate to delete the default apps. The handling is a bit more complex but well worth it!
2. Monitor and clean your smartphone storage space
Even if we don't pay attention to it every day, we often tend to store everything and anything on our phones: missed photos, too large videos and of course all the downloaded files, especially in the form of attachments.
Here is two operations to be carried out regularly to clean the storage memory of your smartphone:
- Go to your "Gallery" application to erase unnecessary photos and videos
- Launch the "Downloads" application or go to the menu Settings> Device> Storage Downloads, make a long press to select the obsolete files from the list then click on the "Trash" icon to delete them.
Note that to save space, you can also move applications and files to your SD card.
3. Clear cache
In addition to photos, videos and downloaded files, the storage memory of our phones is often invaded by cached data from applications. Yet it is so easy to delete them regularly and thus gain speed and disk space. Here is how to do it:
- Go to the menu Settings> Storage
- Click on "Cached data"
- Validate by clicking on " OKAY "
An operation to be carried out regularly without waiting for the first slowdowns to arrive! It is also possible to automate the clearing of the cache thanks to theapplication Clean Master available for free in the Play Store.
4. Use an SD card to store your photos and videos
If not all smartphones allowuse SD card and if despite the presence of a memory expansion slot, some of you do not use one, it can nevertheless prove to be a very useful solution to preserve the internal memory of the device.
It is still possible to make your SD card the space of default storage of photos and videos captured with your smartphone. To do this, all you need to do is:
- Go to the application " Camera "
- Click on themenu icon on the top corner left
- Select tab " Settings "
- To choose "SD card" as an option of "Data storage"
5. Clean your home screen
One of the reasons for your smartphone slowing down can also be in the home screen. In the same way as the desktop of a Windows PC, the home screen of an Android smartphone, it cleans itself. To prevent your home screen from slowing down your smartphone, here are the best practices to adopt:
- Avoid live wallpapers and go for a still image
- Limit widgets. They are not to be avoided completely but only keep the ones that you really use

It's nice and practical, but the automatic synchronization in the background sometimes has an impact, not only on performance but also on battery life.
Of course, you are not told to turn off the automatic synchronization of all your accounts, however, for some it is not necessarily useful to leave it enabled. To turn off automatic synchronization for an account:
