The Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020 event is live. You and your Guardian friends can visit EZA to take on multiple mini-bosses before time runs out and you must fight the big bad, then unlock a variety of chests to receive key shards to unlock Solstice Packages. By participating in the event, you can unlock special armor sets for Warlock, Hunter, and Titan, completing the different challenges for each piece of armor to upgrade them. In the EZA, you might notice these shiny crystals floating around the map. What are they and what do they do for you?
These crystals don't provide you with a buff while standing next to them, and they don't do much at all except float in them. They show their true nature when you destroy them. They give you a little boost in elemental charges, which you gain when you kill an enemy with a specific elemental type. There are Solar, Void, and Arc orbs, and they provide you with a different buff. Each day during the Solstice of Heroes event, a new buff will be active while playing in EZA mode. When you reach 30 stacks of elemental charges, you receive the boosted buff. It's active for 30 seconds, then you have to earn those stacks again. These crystals give you a bonus of six, which helps if you find one on the border of the big bosses that you need to fight after defeating the mini-bosses.
Here are the three Elemental Buffs you receive when empowered:
Solar Element Buff
- Equip your solar subclass and weapons to generate solar orbs. Then collect them to use their solar elemental power. While empowered, Guardians emit a wave of searing energy that damages everything around them.
Elemental Void Buff
- Equip your subclass and Void Weapons to generate Void Orbs. Then collect them to use their Void Elemental Power. Crouch while being able to become invisible and benefit from True Sight plus enhanced ability regeneration.
Arc Elemental Buff
- Equip your Arc subclass and weapons to generate Arc Orbs. Then collect them to use their Arc elemental power. When empowered, Guardians move with improved speed and deal more melee and sword damage.
