Remothered Broken Porcelain, as we can guess from the trailer, is a survival horror developed by Stormind Games and published by Modus Games. The title had been announced during the Italian Video Games Awards and, later, nominated again during Gamescom 2019. On the presentation stage of one of the most important events it was announced that the sequel dell’acclamato Remothered: Tormented Fathers would arrive in 2020.
The title tells the story of Jennifer, a fifteen-year-old expelled from a girls' boarding school due to her bad temper. The young woman eventually finds herself working as a waitress in the Italian hotel Ashmann Inn. Inside this strange structure, after a failed escape attempt, he makes friends with the same age Linn, who suffers from stuttering.
In a short time the two discover what is hiding within those dreadful walls. The inhabitants of the hotel opening soon are subdued by a disturbing presence whistling through the corridors of the building.
I state of not having tried the first chapter, so I had to study and do a good feast of videos on the internet to better understand the plot. Despite the presence of this small obstacle, I didn't let myself down because the title seemed interesting and particularly suitable for me.
It took a while to be able to give a full judgment e concrete. Unfortunately, at the beginning, the title was jam-packed with bugs e little problems that did not allow me to fully enjoy this adventure that subsequently, with the arrival of the necessary patches, turned out to be surprising. Remothered Broken Porcelain has potential, I felt it, and I didn't want the presence of bugs to be in any way to influence my final judgment.
Let's analyze the main features of this interesting survival horror. If you are a bit rusty, we remind you that survival horror means a category of video games based on survival of the character within a scary and suspenseful environment.
A familiar scenario and deafening silence
One of the aspects that struck me most about the game is the presence of dusty environments, dirty, dark. At first glance they surprised me, but then they revealed themselves pleasantly familiar as they reminded me of old settings similar to those found in Silent Hill.
This kind of references is always a pleasure, especially then when is done in an excellent way. Each location is then characterized by Cold coloursalmost glacialVery dark. Rarely is there a source of heat, in every sense, able to make us feel calm for a few minutes.
Another interesting factor is the lack of a soundtrack, or in any case a song capable of torment for the duration of this short but intense experience.
The developers were smart, they preferred to focus onsilence element. Nothing is heard, alone crows' verses ready to make us jump from the chair when we least expect it or the noise of our own footsteps, which sometimes merge with the noise of other steps. If so, quickly escape and find a place to hide.

I've never really enjoyed those games he's in difficult o almost impossible to defend against enemies, those games in which a good hiding place and a silent game mode are preferred. I usually tend to throw me into the fray, be it zombies, monsters or whatever.
Thanks to this game I have instead re-evaluated that genre, in particular because in Remothered Broken Porcelain the moments in which it is necessary to escape are the most tense ones e anxiety-inducing. At the beginning of the game I went through a moment of panic because I didn't know what to do and knowing that someone was chasing me, with the intent of hurting me very much, increased both the fear and adrenaline.
I stayed pleasantly impressed - both from the game and from the enemy that yes, he hit me several times before I figured out what I had to do. It hurt a lot.
The atmosphere inside the game is a lot depressing, from some points of view. This is an interesting detail because, before moving on to horror and fear, we get wrapped up in this feeling sad e solitude that allow us to enter even more into the game, to feel close to our character.
As I revealed to you a little while ago, forget the possibility of being able to defend yourself. There are no pistols, shotguns, and submachine guns to protect you. You have to run away, run more than your enemy e hide yourself - obviously avoid it being around while you do it.
The developers have preferred a mode, in fact, hide and seek. A sort of hide-and-seek that ends badly if enemies manage to find you.
Remothered Broken Porcelain review: skill and the "bug" problem
I already know what you are thinking, it is probably the same as I thought at the beginning: “Okay, I have to hide. I got it. But I can't always escape, for sure there will be something I can do to slow down the enemies. " And here came to my aid the game that revealed the skill of our little protagonist.
Jennifer has a chance to realizzare e modify the objects he owns and then use them against his enemies. THE materials that we need to modify objects or to create new ones, are easily found in the environment that surrounds us. Remember to check well the inside of the drawers or of the wardrobes.
Moreover, our protagonist has another particular ability, that of moth. This ability allows her, and allows us, to observe your surroundings in order to avoid ending up in the mouth of the enemies and also helps us to solve some puzzles.
Now let's analyze the bug issue which forced me, in a sense, to wait. From a graphic point of view the game has me pleasantly surprised from the start. The faces of the characters were done very well, with numerous details that made them realistic to say the least.
These well-made faces, however, in the course of my initial adventure they lost a lot of quality. In addition, the movements of the characters, both those of Jennifer and of the enemies, were very woody. Sometimes I struggled to throw an object o hide me, turn the corner and run because of this annoying problem to say the least.
Because of these problems, I reluctantly left the game right away.
After reading that gods were coming updates with the aim of fixing everything and improving the game, I decided to try again and wait for the arrival of the main patches. I'm glad I waited for the updates they really improved Remothered Broken Porcelain, making it a title worth playing.

Remothered Broken Porcelain is a title that deserves to be tried and has managed to prove that, sometimes, patience pays off: this review is an example. It is a survival horror that respect the parameters of the genre, making it honor.
It is a title interesting, characterized by a texture brief e excellent. Our experience in fact counts approximately 5 hours of gameplay in total but they are like that intense e frenetic that your adventure will be much longer. Those interminable waits inside the closets, with the hope that the enemy will move away, will last indefinitely.
The characters have been well crafted and thanks to the numerous updates, many issues have been resolved allowing the title to show its true identity. Sometimes the mechanisms are still a bit woody but the situation has clearly improved since the beginning.
I hardly get hooked on a game that claims to be horror, I first have to evaluate some parameters and then decide if it was worth it or not. Here I can confidently state that yes, Remothered Broken Porcelain is a great survival horror capable of dramatically increase your heart rate.
