What is Veezie
cattle is a platform that allows you to reproduce, manage and organize multimedia content, just as if it were a media center. The contents in question can be imported from the files present on the memory of the devices on which Veezie runs or via URL. Therefore, by default contents are not available to be reproduced, but the user must import them into the software.
cattle is available for free download on smartphones and tablets Android, via the Play Store, and on iPhone e iPad as an app in IPA format, which can be installed by enabling the internal iOS developer. It is also available as desktop software for PCs with an operating system Windows e MacOS.
The use of this platform is the same regardless of the device and operating system on which it is installed. Its operation is simple: you will have to add the channels in the section My channels, inserting theURL of the web service hosting your videos or by indicating the folder on your computer or mobile device, which contains the video files of your interest.
About the supported video files, cattle offers compatibility with those in MP4, FLV, REVIEWS e MKV, through the use of external media players, such as VLC. In case you want to use the integrated player, the only supported format is that MP4.
Finally, in order to better organize the multimedia contents on your PC, I recommend that you rename them with the exact name, to allow Veezie to download the metadata for correct cataloging. Also, by creating subfolders named movies (for movies) e series (for TV series), you can allow Veezie to create the correct structure for displaying this content.
Download Veezie on Windows
If you want to download cattle on a Windows PC, what you need to do is go to the official website of the program and click on the item Download that you find in the menu bar, at the top. Then scroll down the page until you find the wording Windows version, and click the button Download for Windows under the heading 32 bit o 64 bit, based on the architecture of your computer. If you are not aware of this information, you can read my guide on how to see if the PC is 32 or 64 bit.
Once this is done, you will be directed to an external site that hosts the Veezie installation package. Then press the button Download, to download the file ZIP of the program and then double-click on it to open it. On Windows you do not need to use third-party software to open a compressed archive in ZIP format but, in case you want to deepen this topic, I suggest you read this guide.
After opening the compressed archive, unzip the ZIP file to any folder on your computer and then double-click on the file setup64bit.exe or on the file setup32bit.exe, based on the software version you downloaded on your PC.
At this point, press the button Yes, in the screen of Windows User Account Control, and select the language 2022th, from the panel on the screen, followed by pressing the key OK. Now, click the button NEXT, put a check mark in the box Create a desktop icon and press the button again NEXT.
So you just have to press the button Install, wait for the program installation process to complete and you're done. When finished, press the button end, to close the installation screen.
Download Veezie on macOS
As I told you in previous chapters, cattle is also available for free for Mac. To download the program's installation file, go to its official website and click on the item Download, located in the menu bar, at the top.
At this point, scroll through the different items on the screen, until you find the one named MacOS version. Then click the button Download for macOS, to be directed to an external site, from which to download the software installation package. What you need to do now is press the button Download, in order to download the archive ZIP which contains the Veezie installation file for macOS.
Now, join the path Download means Finder and double click on the folder named Veezie.st-macOS-x64. Inside this folder, you will find the file Veezie.st, i.e. the application of this software, which does not require any installation in order to be used.
Now you just have to copy the program to the folder Applications macOS, right-click on its icon and select the item apri twice in a row. This operation is essential to allow the installation and execution of software from non-certified sources on macOS.
Now, if you want to create a quick link to cattle in Dock, simply drag the application icon to this bar. If you want to create a link in the Launchpad, drag the application icon to the Desk macOS and then drag it to the Launchpad icon in the Dock. Easy, right?
