This was the third and final week of the Murder Mystery questline which sees the Guardians attempting to solve the murder of Master Ives, the long-forgotten cryptarch in Destiny 2. There is only a small task left between you and the mighty. Thunderlord, an exotic heavy machine gun of fate.
The lost cryptarch
If you have completed the previous steps, you will be invited to visit Amanda Holliday in the tower as soon as you load Destiny 2. She then sends you and your fire team to investigate a fallen transmutation station in the Lost Sector. of Whispered Falls in the PDZ.
Once you enter the teleporter, you will appear in a location familiar to Veterans' Destiny; a snowy Cosmodrome. This is where it all started and you are being asked to eliminate the Fallen, which will in a way avenge the death of Master Ives. Oh, Bungie.
There are several small groups of enemies to take out before passing a shield barrier guarded by a big Shank and facing a fallen boss, Kikliss, Murderer. Kill everything in sight and claim the victory, but don't be so quick to start via the transmission pad!
Scannables of traditions hidden inside the cosmodrome
If you love Destiny 2 lore and would love to hear your ghost talk about long forgotten days, don't go via the teleporter yet. There are five places of traditions to scan that have been discovered by the community. They can be scanned at any time except when the great protective barrier is up, so it is best to keep them after the great battle. We have the locations listed below, so keep an eye out for the “Scan” action that will appear on your screen.
Lord of Thunder and ornament
After exiting the Cosmodrome, return to Amanda Holliday in the tower. She'll give you the latest Master Ives engram, which she found while rummaging around her quarters somehow. Once decrypted, you will have a shiny new Thunderlord. Maybe we should attack the other quarters of Cryptarch when no one is watching?
If you happen to have 600 Silver around, Tess Everis is currently selling a Sky Deity Pack which contains the exclusive Tlaloc's Wrath ornament for Thunderlord along with other goodies. It's worth checking out if you like your cosmetics.
Unfortunately, unlike the Festival of the Lost Horror Auto Rifle, this Thunderlord will decrypt at an average level, not a maximum of 600. Check out our Destiny 2 Guide Hub for more useful articles.
