Two wheels, two motors, a battery and some sensors: these are the components of Nilox DOC, a tool that promises to make our (and your) travels faster and less tiring. Could it be true? To find out, we decided to try it, putting our lives in danger.
No, don't worry: you won't have to look Mrs. Death in the face every time you decide to use it. This alternative means of transport - called hoverboard to celebrate Back to the Future - it requires a few hours of practice but in the end you will be able to move without too much difficulty.

But how does it work?
Nilox DOC a self-balancing hoverboard, which means it perceives it shifting your weight and adapts accordingly. In simple terms? Just move slightly left or right and forward or backward to make it work. A rather simple and intuitive system that - as I told you before - will only require a little experimentation, perhaps with the help of someone and in a relatively safe place.
Once you understand the mechanism, you can also venture out into the open air by reaching the maximum speed of 10 km / h. I know, said so it seems little, but wait until you are up there before judging.
Be careful though: Nilox DOC has some limitations. The first is the battery, which allows you to use the hoverboard for maximum 2 hours, after that you will have to put it in charge; the second is weight, because we are talking about about 10 kg, not overly easy to carry. There is also a third one: the scope. Nilox DOC holds a maximum of 100 kg and it is based on a very simple principle: the heavier you are, the less fast it will go. In short, do not think you can tackle small climbs if you are not exactly as graceful as butterflies.
To buy or not to buy Nilox DOC?
Nilox DOC isn't exactly a tool for everyone. If you are quite sporty, if you are not afraid to take risks and if you are willing to spend a few hours of your time learning to govern it, then know that this hoverboard will surely give you some good fun.
If laziness is the only thing that moves you, then be very careful: using Nilox DOC in the city is not a walk in the park. The wheels of this peculiar means of transport are in fact quite small so overcoming small holes or a small difference in height could be more difficult and dangerous than expected. In short, if the road surface is not perfect, pay attention to your teeth.
Finally, for those who do not want to give up this latest hi-tech gimmick but are not really sure they want to test themselves, it exists a comfortable kart connectable to Nilox DOC which allows you to use it while seated, as long as you are willing to spend a few more bucks.
