Phasmophobia is a fun and of course scary new ghost hunting game. Before you go out and check out the location of the evidence, you will need to be prepared as these ghosts can and will kill you. In most cases, a team of four will be the best bet, however, in small places a small team of three or two can handle.
Get the right equipment
At the start of this game you will not have any money to spend, so you will have to accompany other players on their own hunts. Once you have the real money, here's what to buy.
- Flashlights (powerful flashlights for large locations)
- UV flashlights will show hand prints on different surfaces
- EMF readers show phantom activity but are not considered evidence until reaching level 5
- Video cameras show phantom orb activity while looking through truck feed
- The camera allows you to take a picture of the ghost, also defends itself against the spirits
- Ghost Writing books will be written if placed in the ghost realm
- Spirit Boxes can be spoken and some ghosts will respond
- Crucifix (to prevent ghost attacks)
- Smudge Sticks (to prevent ghost attacks)
- Lighters
There are more sophisticated equipment out there, but you won't have to worry about it up front. These listed items will be needed to determine the type of ghost you are dealing with. Always make sure you have enough tools to narrow down your choices. Refer to your journal to see which ghosts react to different elements. Each time you add a piece of evidence, the game automatically narrows down your choices.
Stay in touch
If your team isn't communicating what they're doing and where they're doing it, you may be spending too much time trying to find the ghost's haunted room. The more time you spend in the place, the angrier he will be, which means less time for you to collect evidence. If you keep up to date, you can get in and out as quickly as possible. It's also important to have a player in the truck to track player cameras, sanity levels, and spectral activity.
Know when to get out of there
Sometimes the ghost will be very aggressive and start chasing you before you can take it down completely, or you may have figured out what type of ghost it is but haven't met your goals. When that happens, get out of there. If you die, all the equipment you took with you will be lost. Completing more goals may earn you extra money, but if you die, you'll spend it on all the gear you just lost. Leaving with certain objectives completed or the type of ghost discovered will always earn funds for the next lair. Unless you feel incredibly confident about completing the tasks, your best bet is to head to the truck and live another day.
