Golden Ax II is a scrolling fighting video game, indeed hack 'n slash to be precise, developed by SEGA in 1991 for Sega Mega Drive/ Genesis.
Follow-up to hugely popular Golden Ax, the second chapter was never released in an arcade version. The game's settings and characters are taken directly from the first Golden Ax, the first fabulous chapter of the saga which then continued with Golden Ax III and, in an arcade version, with 1992's Golden Ax: The Revenge of Death Adder. fantasy and inspired if you want to movies and stories like those of Conan the Barbarian and Willow.
The plot sees the evil Dark Guld in possession of the Golden Ax, the weapon with which he commands a ferocious army of monsters, bizarre creatures and evil warriors. The player controls one of Ax Battler, Tyris Falre, and Gilius Thunderhead, who must defeat the tyrant and restore peace to the world. In Golden Ax II we can play in Arcade and Duel mode: the first is the classic story in which you advance from level to level, the second instead allows us to face opponents in single duels.
In the game you can choose the level of difficulty, which varies from easy to difficult and which characterizes the strength and number of enemies present in the 7 levels of fighting games.
LEVEL SELECTION
When the home screen starts, press A, B, C and START at the same time. While still holding A, release B and C and press them again. This trick will take you to the options screen. Still pressing A, release the other two keys, select “Exit” and press B and C again. You will be returned to the main menu. While still holding A, release B and C and press them again to choose the number of players. Keep all keys pressed and press START. Release START, select the character, press UP and START. You can now choose the level to start from.
