Call of Duty: Mobile release date scheduled for October, Activision confirms that it will be free and will come on both Android and iOS. The game has undergone a limited beta test this summer, which is almost complete, and the game will be coming to us as a fall release. It represents a collaboration between two giants, Activision and Tencent, while the development itself was entrusted to Timi, a studio owned by Tencent.
According to the announcements and test material, the upcoming game will bring the original Call of Duty formula, FPS action and more, with full rendering and adaptation for mobile gaming. This will include all maps, weapons, modes, characters, and even favorites like the Crossfire and Crash maps from Modern Warfare or Hijacked and Nuketown from Black Ops. Activision also promises that the mobile version will have Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and Search and Destroy modes, right from the start.
The adaptation will also come with unlockable characters from the franchise, such as Modern Warfare's Simon "Ghost" Riley and John "Soap" MacTavish. Additionally, all unlockable weapons and gear, which were added through different expansions, will now ship as a unified version on mobile, including scorestreaks. And, more importantly, Call of Duty: Mobile comes with battle royale mode, their own take on the popular setting where 100 players are unleashed on a new map designed exclusively for this mobile version.
