On September 10, Team Madden released the Ultimate Kickoff promo in Madden Ultimate Team to celebrate the start of the 2020 NFL season. The promotion includes the additions of a new form of currency and new cards. There are a handful of players you should keep an eye out for, but which cards should you grab for your MUT roster? Let's go over the top rated cards, as well as some worth checking out.
Top Rated Ultimate Kickoff Cards
The two highest rated cards available are WR Brandin Cooks (90 OVR) and CB Byron Jones (90 OVR). Cooks is the limited card, as it will only be in packs until September 12. Jones is the Master special item, and to unlock the 90 cards in total you will need to collect all four 88 OVR Ultimate Kickoff heroes (HB Todd Gurley II, T Trent Williams, DT Linval Joseph, DE Yannick Ngakoue) and add them to the 'special set. This will reward you with the 90 OVR Byron Jones card, as well as two of the heroes you put in the set in untradeable form.
Here are some of the other high global cards you can find in the Ultimate Kickoff promotion:
- SS Malcolm Jenkins – 85 OVR
- WR Robby Anderson – 85 OVR
- QB Phillip Rivers – 85 OVR
- OLB Robert Quinn – 85 OVR
- DE Everson Griffen - 85 OVR
- HB Melvin Gordon III – 85 OVR
- OLB Jamie Collins – 85 OVR
As far as our recommendations go, it might not be worth going after WR Brandin Cooks. With Cooks being a limited item, its cost will be extremely high. Jones, on the other hand, should be worth the cost. Jones' 6'0 ”frame is good enough to stifle receivers, and with 90 speed and 84 man coverage, he should be a good option for Cover 1 and Cover 2.
Here are a few other notable Ultimate Kickoff players worth targeting:
Todd Gurley II
HB Hawks Todd Gurley II always seems to be a reliable running back in Madden. With solid strength and impressive running attributes for a 6'1 '' running back, he doesn't often disappoint. Gurley's Ultimate Kickoff card has some nice attributes (87 Speed, 89 Agility, 85 Break Tackle), which makes it a good pickup.
Robby Anderson
Panthers WR Robby Anderson has a lot of what you would want in a receiver. The old Jet has size (6'3 ''), speed (89), as well as decent course attributes (79 SRR, 81 MRR). And at just 85 years old overall, Robby Anderson shouldn't break the bank either.
Chase young
Fast pass rushers can be dangerous in Madden, especially if they have good Strength and Fineness / Power moves. Washington DE Chase Young may not have the best overall ranking (83) among Ultimate Kickoff cards, but his speed (81) and acceleration (87) make him quite dangerous out of the race. Young may not have the best Finesse (78) and Power (71) move attributes, nor a garish Strength attribute (81). But if he can beat an opposing lineman, he should be able to reach the quarterback quickly with his speed.
