Welcome to the review of the Be Quiet! Light Wings High Speed: the first fans ARGB of the well-known German manufacturer!
Insieme a Noctua you will know that Be Quiet! is one of the best companies in the sector for pc fans and CPU coolers. Has he succumbed to the gamers' fashion of having lights at the expense of performance?
In this review you will find out if the company's engineers were able to guarantee you performance ed aesthetics, to understand if it is worth spending 25 € for a fan or spend it 65 for the three pack!
Be Quiet! Light Wings HS • Package contents and unboxing
The box that contains the Light Wings it is a bit spartan (like almost all the boxes of the German house): inside you will find the fans, already accompanied by theirs anti-vibration pad.
In our case, the pack of three fans that allows save a little something (65 euros for 3 fans instead of 75).
This is indeed a purchase ideal for anyone with a heat sink da 360 mm, or want to do a 240 mm with fan back identical to those of the radiator.
For those who want to use them for the CASEhowever, there is also the version of Be Quiet! Light Wings DON'T High Speed, which you can recognize thanks to the code BL076 for the triple pack e BL072 per il single pack.
Having sent us the version BL077, in the box there is also a HUB ARGB in order to manage the games of lighting.
All in all, with all of these accessories, the price of this pack it's not bad at all!
Be Quiet! Light Wings HS • Specifiche tecniche
Le Be Quiet! Light Wings they will be provided to you with one warranty di three years by Be Quiet !.
With regard to technical techniques, let's see as always USEFULL and parameters certainly attributable to the high-end, which bodes well despite not having enough equipment Advanced to test on static pressure e airflow.
The striking thing is certainly there noise, which is in any case under i 30db and therefore practically non-existent, which beats for 2db also the Noctua NF-A12x25 cromax black.
We believe, as we have already written before, the Be Quiet! Light Wings HS as a product designed almost exclusively for the radiators, thanks to their excellent static pressure.
Dimensions: | 120x120x25 mm |
Type of lighting | ARGB |
Cable length | 5cm |
Minimum speed | 400 RPM (+/- 10%) |
Max speed | 1700 RPM (+/- 10%) |
Airflow | 70,53 m³ / h |
Static pressure | 1,66 mm H₂O |
Noise | 20,6 dB (A) |
Be Quiet! Light Wings HS • Build quality and aesthetics
Le fans they're really beautiful esthetically speaking: it is a variation on the classic design Be Quiet !, which around the fan, is on the front that on Retro, has a ring ARGB.
Compared to other fans like the Pure Wings or Silent Wings, the design has been made slightly more suitable for use on radiators or sui heatsinks: you can immediately notice it because, as we said before, the pads anti-vibration are included on the fan.
It's a pretty cool thing for Be Quiet!, which therefore partially renounces its style sharp to pack a fan really "square".
Obviously, the thing that interests you the most is definitely the ARGB effects: each fan led is settable with a different color.
In this case, the Be Quiet! Light Wings possess 18 led each, all addressable.
Le Plastics with which it is built give a sense of solidity, While Cavi are quite long to allow us to mount them a little everywhere, both on the heatsinks and on the case.
Be Quiet! Light Wings HS • Test & prestazioni
The test to prove the Light Wings he has seen them confront several other fans for many hours, using a Ryzen 3700x cooled thanks to an Arctic Freezer 34 Esports Duo, but using a single PWM fan on it.
Doing this type of test on multiple fans helped us to draw up a short ranking that you will see shortly, but first let's see the full load test with AIDA64 Extreme.
It is a test we have recently adopted to compare the fans between them: after holding the processor in idle for 30 seconds we then activated it stress test with fans at 50% for 150 seconds, then at 75% and finally at 100% for the same duration.
As you can see, the Light Wings they play with the Noctua NF-A12x25 cromax black, however losing ground as the duration of the stress test increases.
This "loss" is underlined by the other graphic that we present to you with the temperature average in full load, always with the same gap as percentage of rotation that we have described to you earlier.
Keep in mind that each fan has gods giri different, therefore the 50 percent of the Light Wings is not the same as the BioniX or other types of fan.
You can therefore understand that despite having less RPM, Night NF-A12x25 perform better than their counterpart Be Quiet!, albeit more in terms of noisiness (more turns means more noise!).
Obviously, the Light Wings they have the ring on their side ARGB and the price which is much lower than the model of the Austrian house, at the expense of a little more noise.
Be Quiet! Light Wings HS • General considerations
Be Quiet! has succumbed to the demands of the world of Gaming, and after decades on the market he decided to please his loyal customers with his first fan ARGB.
And it must be said that despite everything these critters are capable of performare well, even if they are not that much quiet as the German company has accustomed us over the years.
Keep in mind, however, that, as we wrote at the beginning of the review, the Light Wings version HS have been designed for use by heat sink, so they may be your choice more for your liquid cooler than for improving the airflow of your PC case.
We remind you that there is also the Be Quiet version! Light Wings HS single fan, which settles on the 25 €. Economically it is perhaps worth buying regardless of the triple pack (also for the included RGB HUB), but let's talk about one of the best ARGB fans on the market, which does better than the Arctic BioniX P120 and almost reaches the aforementioned Noctua NF-A12x25.
Basically I am at this point the choice compulsory for lovers RGB, while those who are not interested in lights but at performance and noise can easily refer to other models without lighting from Be Quiet! or the Noctua NF-A12x25 cromax black reviewed a few weeks ago, if he had some extra cash to spend.
