After a first presentation which took place on the occasion of the Game Developers Conference of 2018, Atari has finally announced the launch date of the Atari VCS console: will be available starting June 15th, in the Onyx Base System version, priced at $ 299,99.
Il bundle All-Ininstead, which includes the Classic Joystick and the Modern Controller, will be priced at $ 399,99. Each of the joysticks will be sold separately for $ 59,99.
With a design inspired byAtari 2600, the new console is a clear reference to the past, but at the same time it wants to be configured as a modern multimedia experience able to reach a new generation of players. Numerous independent titles will be available in the digital library such as Jetboard Joust, Guntech, Boulder Dash Deluxe, and Something Ate My Alien. Atari will also add its game, Missile Command: Recharged, to the mix.
Each model will be equipped with a copy of theAtari VCS Vault, which includes access to 100 arcade titles and games from the Atari 2600. But that's not all, because players will also be able to use theAntstream Arcade, an on-demand service that offers a large collection of retro titles.

I controller dell'Atari VCS were made in collaboration with PowerA. The first is inspired by the historical controller of the Atari 2600, while the second closely resembles the shape of those for PlayStation and Xbox. Both are equipped with bluethooth connectivity, LED brightness, USB charging and vibration, as well as compatibility for PC and mobile devices.
The console supports major streaming platforms and includes a home version of Chrome and access to Google Workspace applications. But that's not all, because the system contains an AMD Ryzen processor with support for 4K resolution, HDR and 60 frames per second. Thanks to the possibility of installing Windows or Linux, depending on your preferences, the Atari VCS can be transformed into a mini PC.
