The rumors about new MacBooks and new AirPods Apple's have been around for a while, so much so that many users were hoping that the company would announce the new products as early as WWDC 2021 held in June. Multiple sources point out that the devices will be announced later this year and a new report confirms that Apple will launch the new MacBook Pros with Apple Silicon chips and the new AirPods in the second half of 2021.
The next Apple Silicon MacBook Pros and AirPods 3 will be released in the second half of 2021
The Taiwanese website report Economic Daily News claims that Apple will launch the two new products in the second half of 2021. Unfortunately nothing is specified regarding the features of the upcoming MacBook or AirPods, but says Apple is pushing its supply chain to increase production of the two products.
According to sources in the report, Apple plans to sell 23 million MacBook units before the end of the year. Which represents a growth of 15% compared to 2020. Some of this growth is likely related to the MacBook Air M1 and MacBook Pro M1, which were introduced in November last year.
Some leaks have suggested that Apple is working on a redesigned MacBook Pro, with a new Apple Silicon chip. In addition to the ARM processor, this new MacBook is rumored to have an HDMI port and an SD card reader, as well as a MagSafe connector. This should also contribute to a growth in MacBook sales in 2021, as many users have been waiting for a model with these features. Recall that for years Apple has only offered MacBooks equipped with Thunderbolt ports, both for charging and for connecting additional devices.
The AirPods 3 will be similar to the AirPods Pro
As for Apple's iconic headphones, rumors point to the release of third-generation AirPods with a similar design to AirPods Pro, but without active noise cancellation. It was believed that Apple would release the AirPods 3 in May of this year, but that never happened.
Although the Economic Daily News has a mixed history of leaks, reliable sources such as Mark Gurman at Bloomberg and the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed that the new MacBooks and AirPods will arrive later this year. Apple split its product announcements between September, October, and November last year, so the company could plan something similar for 2021.
