Totally muted and outside the classic Keynote of products, Apple has recently made available the new AirPods 2, wireless earphones finally reached their second edition. Important news under the hood and some already announced, surprisingly, the lack of an event dedicated to other products.
Only two days ago, the new iPad Mini and iPad Air were made available, again without announcement and / or event: the same methods of communication, some important innovations under the hood. It is certainly not the first time that Apple has introduced new devices outside of a Keynote and with the simple addition in the store, I certainly expected more attention around an evolution considered important by many users.

Apple AirPods 2 features and technical specifications
It has been rumored for some time about these new Apple AirPods 2, but in actual fact they were only officially announced today. In fact, if you remember, last year a new case for the AirPods was announced that could guarantee Wireless charging, which for many anticipated a new model arrived, however, only today.
The Apple AirPods are wireless earphones presented by the Californian company on September 7, 2016 along with the iPhone 7. From the first moment, this device has been a great success with the public and in the following months people have started wearing these earphones on every occasion: on the tram, on the train, on the plane and even in car (although it would be forbidden by law to cover both ears while driving, let's remember that). The success of the Apple AirPods is certainly due to the good sound quality and, above all, to the fact that they are true wireless earphones, therefore completely wireless. This allowed users to have not only their hands free but also no wires to disturb the various daily operations. The first generation of Apple AirPods made use of a kind of accelerometer to allow users to activate advanced features, such as play / pause or quick track change by simply "tapping the ear with a finger". In addition to this, the first generation of Apple AirPods also had a proximity sensor on both earphones that allowed, once removed, to automatically block any multimedia content in play and then resume viewing (or listening) once the contact with the ears.
The new Apple AirPods 2 integrate the same technical features that have made the success (and the clones) of the first model, but adding as many interesting features. The first novelty is the chip H1, made specifically for Apple AirPods 2: it is a component necessary to improve product reliability, sound quality and connection stability in order to avoid interference or various problems (already significantly minimized with the first version of the product). Thanks to the new H1 processor from Apple AirPods 2, the American company promises "better performance, faster connection time and greater global autonomy" as well as the ability to use the virtual assistant of iOS saying "Hey Siri" (something already in part possible with the first model but definitely not reliable as a function). We are now talking about one more conversation hour for the new Apple AirPods 2, better autonomy than a product that is already more than long-lived and functional in itself and, despite everything, with an excellent quality-price ratio.
The second novelty concerns the battery and, once again, the autonomy: in fact, the new case is now available which guarantees, according to Apple, a sufficient charge to provide the new Apple AirPods 2 fup to 24 hours of music listening.
Apple AirPods 2: price and release date
The new Apple AirPods 2 are already available on the Apple website in two variants: the "standard" one at the same price as 179€ and the one with the new case for greater autonomy and greater battery control at the cost of 229€. Alternatively, if you already have Apple AirPods and are interested in buying the new case, just buy it at the price of 89€.

At first glance, the "2" of these AirPods is not well specified by the Apple site, which is why from the main page it will seem that nothing has changed (if it were not for the word "new"). From this moment on it therefore seems that for new purchases only the new model of Apple AirPods 2 is automatically sold and shipped, even if the management is decidedly confusing. I just hope that in the future we will not end up with 16 different variants of headphones in 32 shades of color as unfortunately already happens with the iPhone, iPad and especially the Apple Watch.
