The Tiara Peach is back Shadowbringers in Final Fantasy XIV. Heavensward - Fishermen have fond memories of raising retribution staff, but Stormblood has given little reason to fish here. In patch 5.21, Diadem returns, providing supplies for the Ishgardian Restoration.
Whether you are leveling the fisherman for the first time or aiming for a spot in the Ishgardian catering leaderboards, Diadem has the fish you'll need.
Tiara bait
The Merchant & Mender at the entrance to Diadem sells two types of bait: freshwater and aerial fishing baits.
If you are below level 45, you will need to collect Goby Balls, Midge Baskets, or Butterworms. If you've unlocked Skyfishing at level 45, you can go for bigger fish (and higher point totals.) For these legendary fish, purchase the Special Diadem bait only: Diadem Ballon Bug, Diadem Red Ballon, Diadem Crane Fly, or Hoverworm Tiara. Get a stacks or two of each to make sure you have the right bait for the shade weather.
Upgrade fishing
There are two locations in Diadem that are specifically for grading: Northern Lake and Southern Lake. If you're below level 45, this is where you'll want to be.
Northern Diadem Lake is located at X: 10, Y: 9 in the northwest corner of the map.
Southern Diadem Lake is at X: 10, Y: 31 in the southwest corner of the map. Just like North Lake, you won't be able to use any of the Diadem's sky fishing bait here.
Fishing weather conditions
As with all Final Fantasy XIV fishing, the weather plays a huge role in which fish you can catch at any time.
Four types of weather can occur in Diadem: Umbrella Flare, Umbrella Dust, Umbrella Yeast, and Umbrella Storm. This corresponds to the four available sky fishing locations: Blustery Cloudtop, Quiet Cloudtop, Swirling Cloudtop, and Windswept Cloudtop.
To maximize your points for Ishgardian dining, be sure to fish with the right bait in the right spot in good weather. These legendary fish are worth a considerable amount of points.
Regular weather
On a regular day, the best place to fish is the Calm Cloudtop. Aim to catch Cloud Cutters and use Mooch or Mooch II. You're either going to hang a vampiric tapestry with a medium tug (!!) or a Gobbie mask with a slight pull (!). Double the Gobbie Mask for a Big Payout: Each Gobbie Mask is worth 1580 points and 40 Skybuilders Certificates.
Umbrella outbreak
In Umbral Soaring weather, fish at Cloudtop Blustery (X: 31.8 Y: 11.0) using Balloon Bugs Tiaras to get a chance at a Cometfish.
Umbrella dust
In Umbral Dust, the legendary fish is Anomalocaris. Cast a line using red Diadem balloons as bait on top of the calm cloud (X: 28,9 Y: 31,8.)
Levin threshold
Umbral Levin's Fish of the Hour in Weather is Rhamphorhynchus. Use a tiara crane on top of the swirling cloud (X: 13.1, Y: 24.9.)
Umbrella storm
During Umbral Tempest, catch the Legendary Dragon Soul atop the Windswept Cloud: X: 29,7, Y: 16,3. It's a legendary tug (!!!) caught with Diadem Hoverworms.
