If your first priority in Destiny 2 is not to be killed, and your second priority is to kill everything else, there is one type of weapon you should be looking at: scout rifles. They might not be as good as they were in the original Destiny, but they should still be your go-to tool when you want to take down enemies from afar.
Here's our roundup of the best scout rifles to outfit your Guardian in PvE and PvP.
Night watch
For DPS versions, you can't go wrong with Night Watch. It is a powerful and versatile weapon with fantastic advantages. The lightweight frame will let you move quickly and with agility, while the explosive payloads make shots even less accurate devastating. This weapon doesn't always get the credit it deserves, but it's excellent.
Randy's throwing knife
If you're feeling comfortable (dare we say: mighty) with the fully automatic capabilities of a rapid-fire frame weapon, Randy's throwing knife is a shining beacon of terror. You can quickly send mobs from afar with this deadly weapon, and it can tear people apart in the crucible as well.
Black scorpion-4sr
He could play second fiddle after Randy's throwing knife, but the Black Scorpion-4sr is a fantastic and versatile choice for people who want a little more flexibility with their Scout rifles. This scout rifle is as effective up close and personal as it is from afar, and is particularly effective in PvE against shields.
MIDA multi-tool
Arguably the best all-round kinetic weapon in the game, the MIDA Multi-Tool is a fantastic weapon for more ambiguous builds. Its aiming aid works wonders and the fact that you can use the radar while aiming at sights makes it an absolute monster.
Nameless midnight
It might not be the best scout rifle, but this cold-named weapon is ideal for PvE and PvP, thanks to its explosive cartridges. As you would expect, bullets explode when they hit their target. There is also no damage loss for explosions, meaning they do the same base damage at any distance.
Symmetry
Should you use this weapon just because it looks radiant? Questionable. It doesn't have the best overall stats, but it does have some great perks that can make all the difference. Arc Seeker mode does the heavy lifting of hitting targets for you. And, yes, it looks awesome.
There are tons of other Boy Scout Rifles that can serve as good options, especially depending on your playstyle, but if you need help sorting through the chaff from the grain, these suggestions won't go astray.
