The best Orc units in Warcraft 3: Reforged

When you hear the roar of thunderous drumbeats and the ground begins to shake, you know the Warcraft 3: Reforged Horde is on the move and you better seek shelter. The Orc faction is ruthless, determined to cause chaos wherever they are and to test their skills against their next opponents. When choosing Orcs, you want to think about how to properly set up your army with the best possible choices and combinations. Here are some of the best units to choose from in the game.

Tauren

A warm addition to your army, Tauren are formidable enemies with a large chunk of wood on their backs. They are a great frontline land unit that you need to back up with weaker, spongy units that can deal damage quickly. If you want to capitalize on Tauren units, you want to pair them with Shaman who can cast the Bloodlust ability, which increases their attack and movement speed. A Tauren with the Bloodlust buff is a devastating foe, and your opponents won't know how to deal with them as they lead the charge of your armies.

Troll Berserkers

When you need a quick rear line unit that can deal quick damage, Troll Berserkers are a great choice, but you need to make sure they have some protection in front of them. If you have a handful of them on your back, they can deal a significant amount of damage with the Berserk ability, but they will take more damage at the same time. However, you need to upgrade your troll headhunters to become berserkers, so they aren't immediately available until you jump through a few hoops. It's a good idea to pair Berserkers with Witch Doctors who can play healing spells around them if your opponents are heading straight for your Berserker line.

Troll Batrider

If you're unfamiliar with the map, Troll Batriders are great for scouring the map to give you information about your enemies and plan your attack. They can attack ground units, which is good if you find lone workers on your own. They're a bit weak, so you don't want to get too attached to them as they roam the map. With the Unstable Concoction ability, you can sacrifice your Troll Batrider to attack air units. It inflicts damage on the target and surrounding air units. You can choose to make it a small gang made up of four or five of them to deal with hit and run attacks. You can also have a handful in your main army to support your slower, more reliable units, or rear line catapults.

Witch Doctor

You rarely want to go into battle without a wizard, as these units can heal several other units if you strategically place their wards in the right places. A Witch Doctor has health though, so your opponents might see them fixed and remove them if you don't keep their attention elsewhere. Additionally, a Witch Doctor can use a Sentry at critical locations to reveal the map for you. If you place them at a crossroads leading to your base, you can tell if an enemy force is on the way or not. You can use this information to ambush them or prepare your defenses. Unfortunately, the Witch Doctor is relatively weak in terms of health and damage, so keep him as far away from combat as possible.

Kodo Beast

When you hear the drumbeat, you know a Kodo beast is not far behind. The Orc's Kodo Beast is a useful unit for fighting larger enemies due to their devouring ability and due to their War Drums aura buff. The War Drums ability is an area of effect that benefits your entire army, granting them increased attack speed while they stay near the Kodo beast. The unit may not have a huge amount of attack, and the Devour ability causes the giant beast to eat a target unit, digest it slowly, and deal damage over a period of time. You don't want a Kodo beast leading your army into battle, but having one in the back to increase your unit's attack speed is probably the best thing they can do.
