Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX gives you a lot of choices when you start the game. With 16 different Pokémon to choose from, you might end up with so many options. In this guide, we'll go through the different stats for each Starter, then walk through how the start of the game will go based on their type.
An important thing to note is that you can play the game very well with any of the beginners, although there will definitely be a difference in the difficulty of finding it. The easiest Pokémon to play would be Pikachu. Good starting stats and being an Electric type will give Pikachu a solid early game advantage that is heavily dependent on the flight types for enemies. At the opposite end of the scale, Treecko, Machop, Bulbasaur, and Chikorita would be much more difficult, due to their type weaknesses.
Most of the rest would fall into a middle position, where their stats or move sets would be fine for the start of the game, so roughly medium difficulty. Below you will find all the statistics of the 16 starters, to help you make your decision.
Once you step into the game, you'll have your starter, buddy, and the various Pokémon that you can recruit so that you can create a rescue team that will suit every dungeon you go into. Make sure to level up at least one Pokémon of each type so you don't get caught with any way to counter powerful enemies. And don't forget to keep an eye out for our Shiny Pokémon to add to your teams, so you can really show off when you go to save other Pokémon.
