Certainly some games are played to make it seem like we're better at something than we actually are in real life. Of course, the virtual kitchen is no exception. While you might not be the next Guy Fieri, there are huge amounts of cooking games out there, across all platforms, that will give you the illusion that you are somehow a Food Network star. With the recent adoption of indie games, perhaps too many to go through. However, to make sure you find the perfect one for you, let's dive into the little pocket of cooking games that really bring it to the table.
Cooking Mama 5: Bon Appétit!

However, the latest one, Cooking Mama: Cookstar, was not very popular compared to Cooking Mama 5: Bon Appétit! on Nintendo 3DS. With the stylus, you will be strangely satisfied to use the touchscreen to cut food and put together a recipe to make a beautiful dish. It also offers a handful of game modes, some that ask you for over 60 recipes, and others that even let you run Mama Restaurant.
Kitchen Dash 2016
via Google PlaySpeaking of TV stars, Cuisine Dash 2016 puts users in the shoes of Flo, a celebrity chef who tries to run a variety of restaurants. It's a fast-paced game, like the one in Diner Dash, but primarily focused on your recipe memory and customer satisfaction. Players will need to keep preparing complex meals so that each restaurant earns enough profit to keep buying materials for recipes. The gameplay is certainly demanding, but it is nonetheless a pleasant experience. It is currently available for PC, Android and iOS.
Cook, serve, delicious! 2
via SteamCook, serve, delicious! 2 may not be widely known, but it's above the cooking game heap. Like Cuisine Dash 2016, you will have to be the fastest in the kitchen. However, it does contain a bit of an outsider's story, where your ability to cook top-notch food determines how many people walk into your restaurant. We also love this game for its honest take on being a chef. For example, although you may have a long line of customers waiting for their meals, all of a sudden you will be told the bathroom needs your fix or the garbage is starting to stink. With over 180 meals to prepare, the replayability of this title is perhaps the highest on this list. It is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Kitchen simulator
via GOGLike any sports title, Cooking Simulator takes itself very seriously, with offerings like career mode, cooking school, and a leaderboard challenge mode. In turn, this game is best suited for those who really want to improve themselves in the kitchen of their home. The game continues to receive updates, allowing players to cook an unfathomable amount of meals, with over 140 ingredients. You can find the game on all current console platforms, as well as PC.
Overcooked! 2
via NintendoIf you're looking for something that's an arcade adrenaline rush, look no further than Overcooked! 2. It is best to play in co-op, with up to four players, as you will cook in levels that include a number of dynamic features, such as: movable floors, portals that engulf you and fires burning your food. . All in all, it's not a game that won't be too nice to you, but it's great to see your friends being bullied even more. It is one of the few cooking games that also offers a fairly popular online multiplayer mode. Overcooked! 2 is playable on all platforms of the current generation, with one complication of this one and its prequel will soon move to the next generation.
Combat Commander's Brigade
via SteamOvercooked! 2 it's weird, but the Combat Commander's Brigade is kind of a fever dream beyond. This anime title is all about a brawler, as you play as Mina, moving through levels in search of monsters for their meats. Then you'll find yourself solving Tetris-style puzzles that vary depending on the ingredients gathered. If done correctly, you'll impress three Carnivorous Judges, ultimately allowing you to upgrade attack abilities for more ingredients. It is a vicious cycle, but addictive. The title published by Adult Swim is available on PS4, Switch and PC.
Pizza Express

It's a Super Nintendo-inspired title with a wacky yet in-depth storyline, as you help struggling store owner Gastone create a mega-pizza place. With dozens of paupers, players will create a number of different pizzas for huge amounts of customers, with each level getting more and more aggressive.
Cooking fever
via Google PlayWithout debate, Cooking Fever is one of the most detailed and complex modern cooking games for iOS and Android. With over 100 million downloads, the app is more of a tycoon management experience that pushes players to upgrade their restaurants as much as possible to allow more customers at once. There are in-app purchases to expand the functionality of the game, but there are already over 400 levels you can dive into. Most of your time will be spent researching a number of ingredients, in the hopes of finding the perfect and delicious dish.
