Now I could tell how awesome and adrenaline fueled point to point racing is. Burnout, but let's be honest here. The main reason for playing any version of Burnout is crash mode. There is nothing more satisfying than making that perfect trip to the point of impact and reaching that perfect spot where you send your vehicle into as many cars and buses as possible. Then, just when you feel like you're about to come to a halt, you hit the Crashbreaker and send your explosive machine into a whole new batch of immolated cars so you can rack up even more points. It is pure happiness.
F1
It's hard to believe, but the very first F1 game came out on Atari in 1976, which makes this damn age almost as old as I am. It was, of course, unlicensed, but it was the start of a series that has had, literally, hundreds of different versions over the years. However, it wasn't until F1 became official and started having numbers after its name in 2009, which makes it worth it. Moto GP, like F1 before it, already had a few games under its belt before it started to be numbered, but it wasn't until Moto GP 13 that it came to its own. Pick your team, get on your bike and try to win the Championship like Valentino Rossi himself, then back away in horror as you misjudge a gap and end up bouncing off the track like a rag doll. Yeah, that's the nightmare thing.
Colin McRae Rally / Dirt
The late great Colin McRae was a legend in the rallying world. So it was no surprise that a game bearing his name was released. EA's racer hasn't always led a charming life, and some of the show's entries have been downright terrible, but there have been a few real players on all of the usual micro-transaction horse shit. that seems to follow the company, like a bad smell. Topping this list, in the author's opinion, Need for Speed: Most Wanted. This version of 2005 will allow you to spend all your time running from the Five-O while climbing the ranks to prove that you are the queen of underground races.
