Ever since Apple, with the release of iPhone 7, decided to permanently abandon the 3,5mm headphone jack, all accessory manufacturers became interested in the development of Bluetooth devices compatible with the aforementioned smartphone. After about two years the issue has not changed at all and even other brands have decided to take the same path. Obviously, the removal of the jack was only the first step towards a completely wireless world, the same world that today we are really beginning to perceive.
For this reason there are thousands of Bluetooth accessories capable of connecting to iPhone and iPad and not having a cable connection, the presence of a rechargeable battery is obvious. But how to check the state of charge? How to understand how much autonomy a paired device still has? Let's find out together in this guide.
Check the charge status of a Bluetooth accessory using widgets
Let's start by saying that some Bluetooth devices, usually those not certified by Apple, may not be compatible with the battery widget that we will see shortly, while others have specific functions to check the battery status. Many producers in fact develop “companion-app” to download for free and others add notification sounds on the same accessories. In general, however, the activation of the widget goes to cover almost all of the devices connected to iPhone and iPad.
- Access the widgets screen to the left of the Home
- Go down and click on "Edit"
- Add the battery widget by clicking on the green button to its left
- Finish everything with "End"
From now on, all Bluetooth accessories paired with iPhone or iPad will be displayed within the same widget (if turned on and connected). If the accessory is not certified, it will still be added to the widget but the battery displayed will be that of the smartphone or tablet to which it is connected.
