The clock riddle in Control AWE is easy to miss. You can only access it through one of the expansion's hidden areas. Therefore, unless you thoroughly explore the investigation area, you won't even know it's there.
If you find it, you might be wondering how you go about completing the puzzle. If you find the fifth hidden location and break one of the walls in that area, you'll discover a secret room with a lonely clock on a plinth.
You can interact with the clock using the action button on your controller or your mouse. The clock hand turns rapidly around its dial. You can stop the hand at any time by pressing the action button, and restart it by pressing it again.
To complete the puzzle, you must stop the hand at specific times and in a particular order. You'll know if you're progressing correctly if you hear the clock chime, and feel a rumble on your controller if you're using one. These are the numbers you need to stop your hand on: one, seven, seven, one, six, four, nine, and seven.
Once this code is correctly inserted, you will be transported to a Hiss version of the starting area of the investigation sector. Kill the whistle that appears, then triple tap the light switch - which appears at the back of the room - to enter the Oceanview Motel.
Go down the hall to the end of the motel floor and take the key in the back left room. Head back down the hall and you'll receive a special message from Alan Wake's hotline. We won't spoil it because it's a cool Easter Egg that relates to Xbox 360 and PC 2010 game.
Once you have watched and listened to the message, open the door marked with the inverted triangle on the board. Pull the light switch three times again to return to the clock room.
