Google Maps for Android recently received a very, very welcome update for so many users!
In fact the integration between Maps and other Google services has increased, so much so that you can view it within Google Maps Calendar events (if they contain places) or Gmail reservations (ditto)! A rather handy feature that allows you to get navigation information on the fly based on the event.
Let's see together how to exploit it!
Add calendar events to Google Maps
We actually don't need to add manually - it's completely automatic! In order for integration, however, it is necessary that Google Maps is updated to the latest version available (update 9.38.1 at the time of writing), which the "Web & App Activity" Google history is active and that both Maps and the Calendar / Gmail apps are configured with the same account.
To make sure, just go to Google Maps> Menu> Settings> Personal content.
Now let's go back to the main screen and go to Menu> Your places. From there let's move on to the tab Scheduled!
Even if there are none in the image above, they will appear there all calendar or Gmail events that contain a place, in the form of a list. By clicking on each element you can obtain navigation information directly in Google Maps!
Places related to scheduled events will also appear on the "Map" view, distinguished by the name of the place to reach and from date of the event.
