    Each province under your control in A Total War Saga: Troy will have a happiness score. The happier the citizens of a province, the easier it is to keep a province in check. If the happiness of a province becomes too cynical, you may have to face an uprising that begins in that region and defeat it. The Uprising Army can potentially take control of the province and turn it into a small faction if you leave it unchecked.



    How to see the happiness of the province

    You can see the happiness of any province by clicking on the area and looking at the province details pop-up in the lower left part of your user interface. The portion of happiness is under the growth of the province and the influence of your faction on the population.

    There are direct ways to improve the happiness of a province, especially after having recently conquered it. Here are several ways to increase happiness:

    • Have a military presence in the city (garrison units)
    • Construct buildings to increase happiness
    • The difficulty level of your campaign
    • Have a character (hero) stationed in the city

    Other factors that can have a negative impact on the happiness of a province include the instability of citizens and taxes. Almost all provinces provide your faction with taxes. You can choose to raise taxes to receive more res
