From GamersLance we want to offer you the whole list of the characters of the video game Genshin Impact(HoYoverse), according to the region to which they belong, either: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah. If you want to know where your favorite characters are from, don't miss our post!
The characters can be divided into two categories: 4-star and 5-star. The 4-star characters are the most common in Genshin Impact, and you get three of them just by playing the story (Amber, Lisa and Kaeya). The other 4 stars are usually "extracted" from a wish: a gacha mechanic that is similar to what we would call a loot box here in the West. The 4 stars are not that hard to achieve, but their standard drop rate is not that good. 5-star characters are rarer and tend to have better kits than 4-star characters, but they are rarely needed to clear Genshin Impact content. So far, these can only be obtained by raffle and are often only available for a limited time.
This guide presents all current Genshin Impact characters listed alphabetically and by region. At the bottom of the guide is a section dedicated to characters that are rumored and unrumored, and will be given a full description when they are released. In addition, we are working on individual characters and build guides, so check here often to see if your favorite Genshin Impact characters have one.
Genshin Impact characters released
Traveler
You are the main character in Genshin Impact. You and your twin brother (the opposite of your chosen gender) traveled between multiple worlds, but you found yourself trapped in the world of Teyvat after your brother was captured by a powerful unnamed goddess. You have no idea how much time has passed between your awakening and this battle, but you will stop at nothing to find your long-lost brother. The Traveler can wield elemental powers without a vision, unlike the native inhabitants of Teyvat who need them. He can also use any item he wishes, provided he first visits a shrine to the respective deity. Currently, only Anemo and Geo are available to the traveler.
Mondstadt Characters
Albedo (5 stars)
Albedo is a master alchemist and captain of the research team of the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt. He is soft-spoken, but skilled with the sword and gifted with Geo Vision. Many mysteries surround his origins and he seeks alchemical answers to the questions surrounding life itself. Albedo's character and build guide are available here.
Amber (4 stars)
Chef of the Mondstadt Outriders for the Knights of Favonius (and technically the Outrider), Amber is a cheerful and energetic young woman who is an ace glider and should not be allowed anywhere near a kitchen. She has Pyro vision and uses a bow in combat. Her Baron Bunny isn't the best skill, but it's adorable.
Barbara (4 stars)
Nurse, nun, idol: these three words best describe Mondstadt's own Barbara, a pious healer who works for the Church of Favonius. Barbara is a broken young woman with whom most of the citizens of Mondstadt are in love. She loves to sing and uses the power of music to heal her compatriots in combat through her catalyst and Hydro Vision.
Bennett (4 stars)
Bennett is a young member of the Mondstadt Adventurer's Guild, known for his extreme bad luck. That hasn't stopped him from exploring the world, even though he's covered in more cuts, scrapes, bruises and scars than a teenager his age should be. Fortunately, his sword skills and Pyro vision help him out of trouble. Bennett's build and character guide is available here.
Diluc (5 stars)
Owner and proprietor of the Dawn Hold, Diluc is a serious man who once served with the Knights of Favonius. A past incident led him to break with the Knights, but did not stop his tireless efforts to defend Mondstadt against enemies both foreign and domestic. He uses his gclaymore and Pyro Vision in the name of justice, but keeps this part of his life a closely guarded secret.
Eula (5 stars)Eula is the rebellious descendant of the ancient aristocracy who lives on the battlefield as a knight. Born into a clan of the old nobility, the blood of the Mondstadt oppressors runs through Eula's veins. Her unique way of dealing with the world has enabled her to overcome the prejudices against her, which has led her to sever all ties with her family and become the "Knight of the Mist". She pursues Mondstadt's enemies in the wilderness in search of her particular revenge.
Diona (4 stars)
Diona is the best waitress in all of Mondstadt and she hates it. She despises alcohol and aims to overthrow the Mondstadt wine industry, but no matter how hard she tries to make the most disgusting drink imaginable, it's still fantastic. For this reason, the Cat's Tail tavern is one of the most popular in the country. Her cold exterior hides a more caring heart, and she uses her bow and Cryo Vision to defend her friends when called upon.
Fischl (4 stars)
The Prinzessin der Verurteilung (at least according to her) Fischl is the most eclectic member of the research team. Her speech may be full of flowery language, but she is petty and her night raven Oz adores her (though he knows it well enough not to bother the Prinzessin). Fischl uses her bow and Electro Vision to help the Adventurers Guild and the Research Team, but call her by another name and she'll turn them against you.
Jean (5 stars)
John is the Acting Grand Marshal of the Favonius Knights of Mondstadt, and her constant need to help anyone who asks for her help often leaves her exhausted. The Dandelion Knight carries on despite this, still trying to live up to the high expectations she has set for herself. She defends Mondstadt with her sword and Anemo Vision, though not every task requires her steady hand.
Kaeya (4 stars)
John's right-hand man and Diluc's adopted brother (though the two barely get along these days), Kaeya is the best information gatherer in the Knights of Favonius. Her penchant for telling outright lies has helped her deceive and fool many criminals, though she is not averse to using this talent to deceive her friends. His calm and relaxed demeanor is largely a facade, as when the pressure arises, he will use his sword and Cryo Vision to defend Mondstadt from his enemies.
Klee (5 stars)
Klee may be a child, but her ability to cause immense destruction with her explosives may be unsurpassed (excluding her largely absent and possibly insane mother Alice). Klee is cheerful, and unfortunately almost too innocent of the carnage she causes, often finding herself in solitary confinement in the containment chamber of the Knights of Favonius by an incredibly exasperated John. Klee uses his catalyst and Pyro Vision with good intent; this intent happens to explode.
Lisa (4 stars)
Lisa is the most talented mage to graduate from Sumeru Academy in centuries, but she prefers to spend her time playing the role of librarian for the Knights of Favonius. Lisa is also likely to flirt with you by telling you that she will scold you, and if you care about your life, don't you dare return her overdue or damaged library books. You will quickly discover that she is more than willing to turn her catalyst and Electro Vision against you.
Mona (5 stars)
Mona is a talented astrologer from a distant land who found herself stranded in Mondstadt due to her perpetual lack of funds. She refuses to trade her skills for coins, even though this stubborn pride leaves her hungry most nights. Mona may seem selfish, but it's quite an act to hide her true concerns and intentions. She uses her catalyst and Hydro Vision to divine the future and overcome obstacles in combat.
Noelle (4 stars)
Noelle is the loyal servant of the Knights of Favonius and aspires to join their ranks one day. This dream is probably the reason why she wears combat armor, despite being a servant. Don't assume for a moment that she is neglecting her domestic duties: Noelle cooks, cleans, and performs all her chores with the utmost care. When she can venture into the field, Noelle uses her Claymore and Geo Vision to defend her friends. Noelle's character and building guide are available here.
Razor (4 stars)
Razor lives with a pack of wolves in the Wolvendom area of Mondstadt. He is wary of strangers and will defend his pack from all outsiders. Although he is more civilized than he might initially think, Razor prefers to live far away from human civilization. He is a fierce fighter, and anyone or anything foolish enough to go after his pack will soon find themselves under the blade of his Claymore, assuming Razor didn't use his Electro Vision to fry them first.
Rosaria (4 stars)
Rosalia, a sister of the Church of Favonius in the town of Mondstadt. A strange nun who only looks like one. Her words are sharp and her demeanor cold. Unpredictable, she often leaves without telling anyone and seems to act for the sake of a mission that no one knows...
Sucrose (4 stars)
Sucrose is a talented young alchemist from Mondstadt, driven by an almost insatiable curiosity for all things. She is shy and timid, but that hasn't stopped her from pursuing her research with absolute zeal, even if it sometimes requires human contact. She works with Albedo and respects him deeply. When called into the field, Sucrose fights back with her Catalyst and Anemo Vision.
Thoma (4 stars)
Thoma is in the service of the powerful Kamisato clan, which heads the Cultural Commission, one of the three commissions that administer Inazuma under the direct orders of the Shogun. He has known Ayato and Ayaka, the heads of the clan, for many years and is especially close to them. He is a friendly and helpful guy, but can also be teasing to people he feels close to. He is especially good at handling conflict situations thanks to his observation and analytical skills. However, he admits he was wrong about the protagonist when Ayaka manages to convince him to help them.
Venti (5 stars).
"The tone deaf bard," as Paimon likes to call him, Venti is a carefree young man who hides a big heart. He may seem selfish and egotistical to some, but he will do his best to keep the people of Mondstadt safe from tyranny. Venti is also a great drinker, able to store more wine than most without unwanted effects. When summoned, Venti uses his bow and Anemo Vision to protect the people and those he cares about.
LiyueCharacters
Beidou (4 stars)
Famous captain of the Crux, Beidou inspires fear, awe and respect among the citizens of Liyue. It is often whispered among those who have sailed with her that Beidou can cut any threat in half with her Claymore, imbued with the power of her Electro Vision. While this claim may or may not be true, Beidou does not actually fear Liyue Qixing's Tianguan, Ningguang (much to Ningguang's chagrin).
Chongyun (4 stars)
Chongyun comes from a family of exorcists, and is himself a follower of the exorcist. Part of this has to do with his excessive positive energy, which is so pure that most minds flee before he can see them. In fact, Chongyun has never seen a spirit and his positive energy makes him sensitive to both extreme emotions and heat. When he needs to defend himself, Chongyun uses a Claymore along with his Cryo Vision.
Tartaglia; AKA Childe (5 stars)
Tartaglia is number 11 of Fatui Harbingers, an elite group of Snezhnaya agents. He was sent to Liyue Nation to act as a diplomat, though it is clear that he hides many secrets beneath his relaxed and friendly demeanor. Tartaglia is a talented fighter, often wielding a bow alongside his Hydro Vision.
Ganyu (5 stars)
Ganyu is the Yuehai Pavilion secretary for Liyue Qixing, and is an absolute workaholic. Ganyu will complete any task assigned to her, even if it means she has to work an unpleasant amount of overtime to see the job done. Ganyu is half Adeptus, which has led her to be quieter and more reserved than her compatriots. Ganyu uses a bow and her Cryo vision to dominate the battlefield when called upon to do so. Ganyu's character and build guide are available here.
Hu Tao (5 stars)
Hu Tao - 77th director of Wangsheng Funeral Home, in charge of all matters related to funerals. He takes care of everyone's funerals with zeal and makes sure that the balance between the world of the dead and the world of the living is maintained. In addition, he has... "talents" as a poet; several of his mirliton verses pass by word of mouth in Liyue.
Shenhe (5 stars)
She is officially a student of Cloud Breath, but her natural predispositions and exceptional intelligence quickly won over other Adepts. Shenhe learned from all of them, becoming a mortal capable of mastering the Adept arts.
Xiao (5 stars)
One of the powerful enlightened Adepts of Liyue, also known as the "Guardian Yaksha". Although he has the appearance of a small child, there are many legends about him in literary works that are thousands of years old. His favorite food is almond tofu from Wangshu Inn. He especially likes it because it tastes like a sweet dream he once devoured.
Yanfei (4 stars)

A mysterious person who claims to work for the Civil Affairs Bureau. She appears at the center of all sorts of events in different forms, only to disappear just before the storm clears.
Yun Jin (4 stars)
A talented opera singer and a very famous playwright in Liyue. Her unique style, smooth and elegant, is very much her own.
Keqing (5 stars)
Keqing is Yuheng of Liyue Qixing, which means he performs daily operations while Rex Lapis is away. However, she doesn't care much for the gods and prefers to find solutions to the problems she and Liyue face on their own. She is strong-willed and determined, and any fool who stands between her and Liyue's prosperity will soon find herself at the mercy of her sword and Electro Vision.
Ningguang (4 stars)
The Tianguan of Liyue Qixing, a sect of businessmen who run Liyue, Ningguang is arguably the most powerful person in Liyue, and his wealth is unparalleled in all of Teyvat. His jade chamber is proof of this, as it hovers over Liyue, allowing Ningguang to see the entire nation from his window. When things are going well, Ningguang can dominate the competition with his catalyst and Geo Vision.
Qiqi (5 stars)
Qiqi is an apprentice at Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue. She is also quite dead. Qiqi is a zombie, resurrected by Liyue's follower. She doesn't talk much, nor does she show complex emotions, but she loves coconut milk (which she often mistakenly calls coconut milk, leading to much confusion). If attacked while collecting herbs for the pharmacy, Qiqi can defend herself with her sword and Cryo Vision.
Xiangling (4 stars)
Xiangling as a chef, often experimenting with new recipes in his kitchen at the Wanmin restaurant in Liyue. Those wishing to try his dishes should be warned: Xiangling's signature dishes are hot and spicy, often too hot and spicy for most people. It's probably normal for her to be equipped with a Pyro Vision, though she's about as adept at wielding a weapon as a wok. Xiangling's build guide and characters are available here.
Xingqqiu (4 stars)
Xinqqiu is a self-proclaimed practitioner of the Guhua Clan arts, though this often leads to petty insults and taunts from outsiders. The second son of the guildmaster of the successful Feiyun Trade Guild often finds himself with his nose buried in a book, but will gladly take up his sword and use his Hydro Vision to defend the innocent against injustice. Xinqiu's character and build guide are available here.
Xinyan (4 stars)
Rock-n-roll has happened to Liyue and no one else plays like Xinyan. Literally: Xinyan is Liyue's only rock-n-roll musician, using his Pyro Vision to generate pyrotechnics during his stage performances. He rebels against prejudice with his music, using a modified lyre of his own creation. Xinyan can protest with the power of song, but is not afraid to hit a fool with his claymore.
Zhongli (5 stars)
Zhongli is a businessman who works with Wangsheng Funeral Home in Liyue. Not much is known about Zhongli, but he seems to care a lot about the people of Liyue in his subtle way. He is also famous for leaving his wallet at home, rarely has Mora on hand and leaves his friends stuck on the account. He uses his polearm and Geo Vision to take down Liyue's enemies.
