Resident Evil Village is the eighth installment of the Resident Evil series. The game is made on the same Resident Evil engine that Resident Evil 7, Devil May Cry 3, and more were made, but optimized for the latest generation of consoles. Unlike the previous titles, the digital is hidden in the word "Village" instead of being pasted on the rest of the title. It's not a big difference, but the game feels like an offshoot instead of a main title.
Announced during Sony's livestream, Resident Evil Village is the next game in the horror survival series. Adapted for the PlayStation 5, the game has beautiful graphics and a creative setting in a small, seemingly innocent village. Here's everything we know about the game so far.

Thanks to Message from Special Developers on YouTube, most of these questions are easy to answer. Resident Evil Village takes place “a few” years after the events of Resident Evil 7. The story follows Ethan Winters, once again, as he returns to a normal life. He and his wife live peacefully in a new place, rebuilding their lives. Chris Redfield returns to turn Ethan's world upside down and drag him into a new nightmare. According to the press release, Ethan seeks to uncover the mysterious horror plaguing the once peaceful village.
The setting is, as you might expect, a village. Although its nature is mysterious and vague. The developers say it's such an important backdrop to the events that they see the village itself as a character.
What are the new features of Resident Evil Village?
The game is based on the latest version of the Resident Evil Engine. The developers have used their knowledge and experience to optimize the game for the next generation of consoles and platforms. There is no load time in Resident Evil Village, which the developers really hope to get the player into the game coupled with improved graphics and immersive sound.
Resident Evil Village is evolving into a more action-oriented style of play as another way to keep players engaged in the story. The Resident Evil 7 first-person perspective also returns.
Inventory is updated, resembling the new version seen in Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.

This was the very first thought addressed by the developers in the corresponding YouTube video. Resident Evil Village is not a PS5 exclusive title. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Steam. This is not surprising, as the previous games were available on all platforms.
When is Resident Evil Village Liberation?
Resident Evil Village will be released in 2021, but there is no specific date or window. The next developer update will be in August 2020, according to the site.
