Shotguns have always been one of the best types of guns in all shooting games, and Destiny 2 is no different. The shotgun is the great equalizer in PvP, or a lifeline in PvE. Like all the other guns in the game, some shotguns are simply better than others, so in this guide we're going to go over some of the best options to find.
Felwinter's lie
You can get Felwinter's Lie by completing The Lie quest. This shotgun powerhouse was widely known as a game breaker in the original Destiny, and in Destiny 2 it still contains a vicious punch that will ward off almost any enemy. There is a chance that this one has passed, you buy, as the quest was time limited, but if you are lucky enough to have it, it will help you dominate PvP.
The chaperone
A lot of Guardians seem to sleep on the Hood due to its slug-based nature, but if you have the aim, it will easily spawn the enemy Guardian's head. To get it, you will need to complete the Jolly Holliday quest.
The tractor barrel
The Tractor Cannon is an exotic shotgun that will force-boost your enemies on the map. A promising option for PvP and PvE is a random exotic world, so if you don't have it yet, you need to get into the game and start killing, or hope Xur brings it for you.
Dust Rock Blues
Another PvP weapon that we tend to sleep on, the Dusty Rock Blues will have the chance to offer God Rolls to those who stalk them. You can get this by killing Lost Sector bosses on the EDZ, and it's totally worth it, albeit a little ugly.
Wishbringer
PvP players looking for an easy way to unleash massive damage on large targets might want to venture into the Crucible to try and get the Wishbringer. The damage is huge thanks to the Rapid-Fire frame making it a fully automatic shotgun.
Ikelos_SG
You can get one of Destiny 2's most brutal shotguns through full escalation protocol events on Mars. Everyone who plays Destiny 2 has learned to fear this particular weapon, and it's highly sought after for a reason, although it has lost some of its luster over time.
Mindbender's ambition
You can obtain Mindbender's Ambition by completing Darkness in the Holy Lair. This is a fairly consistent option for high-level PvP players who enjoy shotguns, saving a solid range with a brutal amount of damage that will easily deal a blow to an enemy.
