Victini is coming to Pokémon Go, and it will first be available to trainers attending the Pokémon Go Fest 2020 event. After that, developer Niantic will find another opportunity to introduce this mythical Pokémon to the masses. When it becomes available to you, you want to make sure you receive the best version available and give it the best move set to fight in PvE Raids and the PvP Fighting League.
Victini is a Psychic and Fire type Pokémon. It's weak for Dark, Ghost, Ground, Rock, and Water-type moves, which means you probably need to be careful how you use it with your other Pokémon. You'll probably want to use it with specific Pokémon matches to cover up their weaknesses, but that also depends on its moveset.
Here are the fast and charged moves Victini can learn in Pokémon Go:
Fast movements:
- Quick attack (normal type) (8,0 damage and 10 energy)
- Confusion (psychic type) (24 damage and 15 energy)
Load movements
- Concentration explosion (combat type) (140 damage and 75 energy points)
- Overheating (fire type) (192 damage and 55 energy)
- Psychic (psychic type) (108 damage and 55 energy)
- V-Create (fire type) (95 damage and 40 energy)
Of the choices available, you want Victini to know Confusion for her fast movement. This is far superior to the quick attack, so remove that option immediately. For load movements, it becomes a more difficult conversation. While the Concentration Blast is useful against a handful of Pokémon that would counter Victini, it doesn't stand up to other choices, so you'd better not use it. Then it's about thinking about overheating, v-create, and psychic. While Psychic has become a standout move for PvE and PvP, your Victini better know how to overheat or V-create, and even then those are tough choices. V-create barely beats overheat by a hair in terms of damage, but overheat is superior due to its ability to hit, especially in the Ultra and Master leagues.
A Victini who experiences confusion for his quick attack and then overheats or v-creates for his charge move would be a reliable option. Unfortunately, you won't have too much of a chance to capture it. It will first be released as an Exclusive Pokémon during Pokémon Go Fest 2020, and will be available in the future, likely as part of five-star raids or one-off research events.
